INSTEAD of hold DEFENSE/SPECIAL/POWER I wish it just told the button required
If it weren't for the fact most of these have the icon of the ability being active it annoys me having to remember which move is which, I just wish it had the button prompt(controller or m/kb) for which skill is being affected.

You can change keybinds so yeah the slots need to have actual names. Its not really hard to learn them.

What the hell do changing keybinds have ANYTHING to do with the thread? So you tell me you remember what your abilities are tagged as? Power/special, all that jazz? There is no reason to defend bad mechanics, there is literally no reason for it.

I learned what the abilites were labled as about 5 minutes into my first run. Especially since you can press tab to pause the game and mouse over things to see what they are. Or hell, Maybe try a post-it-note on the edge of your screen to refer to?
I don't think it's a bad idea to ask to have the keybind listed as well, but having the abilites labeled 'attack, power, special, defence' etc, will let you very quickly identify what affects what, especially since most items/upgrades are shared across charecters, once you get used to it. Frankly one of the easier things to learn about this game once you play a few matches.

When you hover over abilities it doesnt tell you which it is. Power and special has no functional difference, they are just different offensive abiltities. But you can remember it by the order on the hotbar or keybind. But tbh it doesnt make much sense, when getting upgrades it shows which key is which skill, but the same isnt true for magic items

It's not a matter of learning, it should just be there to begin with, there is no reason to restrict information for the sake of 'reasons', for those of use that play using 4k tvs, notes on the tv is useless.

Regardless, there should be some kind of marker for what is what, still floors me that people argue against qol things that are useful.

At the start it is quite confusing yeah, but after a while you do know which button is which.
But in general it does make sense if it was like this: Upgrade POWER (E)

yup, i totally agree they should just say "power [ right mouse button ] / special [ E ] " or whatever, they could program the tooltips to reflect the keybindings

Dude, it's not even hard.
Uh I didn't say they couldn't. But these things need a name and not just whatever each person has them bound to. How would you refer to them when talking with other people? And when referred to in game it just makes more sense for them to have a category and not just a binding that could change at any time.
Agree heavily, is super confusing since until you learn which button something is referring to you'll frankly have no idea which is which. As is I only know that Trait is Q and Defense is Shift.
