Really enjoyable survivors-like game.

There are a lot of grinding for various upgradeable passives skills.
A lot of different characters to play and unlock. The only downside, that every run with the same character feels mostly the same, since they have their owm skill tree and you usually tend to take the same main skills and passive skills during a run.

Other than that there are a lot of different items to buy in-shop during a run, some combinations of items can literally melt your PC, so it's best to nearly disable all skill effects in the options menu when this starts to happen later on (especially on higher difficulties, where all bosses have invulnerability phases and you can't see what their attacks are doing).

Still, there are a lot of content to grind for. If you like this type of games - this is a great option.

Well made. Looks good. Good balance. The gameplay just is not fun. Games like this should be addicting, this feels too slow.

Needs a neutral option for this one. The range of levels and general feel of the game is great but it also feels way too grindy, balance is all over the place and every run feels more or less the same. I actually think it's the samey runs which is my biggest gripe because, whereas in other games of this genre, you can play the same character in completely different ways in this game each run basically feels the same. The biggest difference between runs is the map you pick and the difficulty because other differences like which weapon you start with don't even matter, you can easily unlock them all anyway and your talent tree is always the same. You can't get weird builds because all you rolled were non-meta picks because all that happens when you level is that you get a talent point and your talent tree is always the same across each run.

Again, talent trees might sound like a fine change but it really hurts the replayability because you quickly develop a meta build and you're never incentivised or required to change it up. You do have different characters but the balance curve seems all over the place. On the one hand you have a ranger character with an ult so busted you can one shot most bosses on expert whilst on the other you have a mage who's ult randomly shoots out lasers which miss the boss you're trying to hit most of the time. And because each character also has a meta talent tree which persists outside runs you're again incentivised to stick with the same character using the same build with the same weapons run after run after run.

I also feel like the game is too cluttered in that you have meta talent trees for each hero, multiple heroes, a global meta talent tree for all heroes, in-game hero specific talent trees, weapons, relics, consumables, items and all the usual elemental status effect guff. It's too much and all contributes to building one busted meta hero that you don't diverge from.

Then you just have general stuff like the UI getting uber cluttered with a million status effects (yes, I know you can make them opaque but then you can't see what you're shooting), shared projectile animations so sometimes a glowing red orb could be fired from you but it could also have been shot from an enemy and bosses relying on really cheap tactics - it's very possible to run through on expert without breaking a sweat and then get spanked by a boss because they quickly fired off four screen wide projectiles that chunk your health.

Overall this is a weird title because you have so much stuff to do, collect, unlock and complete but it feels so boring and repetitive. This is one of those strange occasions where less is more and, in the later runs, I found myself missing titles like Halls of Torment, Brotato, Death Must Die, Vampires, DRG Survivor... I didn't feel invested in this game but I'll probably play it a bit more I guess. It's just, kinda stale and doesn't do anything new but it's also cheap enough so who cares really. I'm giving it a thumbs down but really it's a solid 5/10.
