I get that I can learn what they do in store but I don't have those images and effects memorized. If there's an easy way to see them in run I'm missing it. Apologies if this is just me being oblivious to something in the menu's but at least for me this needs to be more clear.
General feedback: This is my favorite classic style bullet heaven game I've played to date. I absolutely love the work you've done. Playing this game is like playing Diablo to me in that its a zen, familiar experience that's got a TON of content to work towards but is still engaging enough to keep your interest after dozens of hours. Wonderful job. Truly.
The only less traditional bullet heaven I enjoy more than this is Brotato....but that game is kind of its own thing. This is the best of the vampire survivors, halls of torment, 20 minutes till dawn, etc classic style bullet heaven's I've played.
The most bugged stage is the 4th stage's last boss. After I dash through the arena, I cannot deal any damage to the BOSS inside the arena.
And the new dash function is very hard to control, cannot estimate how long the character would pass though.
I'm glad you counted time already played to levelling the characters as after unlocking the new character i got a taste of how slow that levelling experience is, and i can only imagine the profound frustration some other people are feeling at this point since i can't imagine how much play time you would have to have clocked to have hit level 10 with all the characters. I certainly haven't and i have somewhere north of 100 hours.
1. Key rebinding is much appreciated. I can actually play properly now. It would be nice if we could assign mouse buttons as well though. I have some thumb buttons that are dying to be included.
2. I like playing with manual aim, but the mouse pointer can be really hard to see and I often lose track of it. Some choices for size/shape/colour would be most welcome. In other games of this type I even switch depending on the level so that I always have something contrasting.
I used to use it to phase through enemies all the time, now every time I dash I just take damage instead, make me not bother to use not anymore at this point.
But yeah, I completely zero'd out my progress so I could feel what it's like to start from scratch with character skill trees and yggdrasil trees and it's phenomenally fun. Great job balancing it all out
Loki is pretty unfair boss, checkerboard attack+constant summons of elites that attack from outside of the screen+being VERY spongy+bullet hell attack+confusion attack+clones+curses are too much to handle on Round 2.
Most bosses are pretty unbalanced, they are really tough on Round 2, then you can facetank everything after that (including the three boss rush of Asgard)
(All of this refers to higher difficulties like Ragnarok VII-X)
All offensive consumables (but the fire barrage one on the early part of the run) are useless.
Consumables (the RB button ones), being automatically picked up is a pain in the ass, there are so many times I lost a valuable collect XP or collect hearts ring without noticing in the middle of the bullet hell and the huge mass of mobs... Only to find out i picked up some useless card when I need to pick all the exp, or recover my hearts. There should be some "Lock" hotkey, or maybe a "Disable consumables pickup automatically" option and a hotkey to collect.
Relic exchanger prices seems a little high.
The XP nodes (quantity increase and area of collect) are a noob trap, the prices should be lower to be worth it, with more power you kill more, therefore you get more exp, if you waste points on XP nodes you have less kill power, so with that 5% increase you actually harvest less experience.
Especially when you are a newble, access to Glosary in the middle of the run so you can check what potions actually do could be very helpful.
I think RESET should come with a free crystal, like the runes that gives you stats from unused crystals, that way it doesn't feel useless if u get it late in the run and u used up all crystals.
