What do "lucky rolls" on lorcan actually do?

In-game it just says a Lucky Roll happens when you succeed on an extra roll from the Luck stat but I can't find anything specifying what a "lucky roll" actually does. It sounds like that means a guaranteed success on whatever you're lucky rolling on? but it's unclear. I appreciate any guidance

Let's explain it with an example.

Lorcan always starts with at least 1 Luck point.
If a relic has a 10% chance being triggered and it doesn't activate with that 10% chance, that 10% attempt is rolled once again for each Luck point Lorcan has. If one of those new attempts is successful, it is considered a Lucky Roll.
