I did just under 300 in CS and wasn't seeing the return I wanted... so I went back to DF and I'm up over 1600 so far there... but it's just fun to put in a run now and then.
Remember to use expert monocle on boss fights and keep leveling up expert monocle before the other gear if your goal is to make it easier to level up. There's a lot of great guides from Fernanda and others under the guides tab. One includes how/where to get all the rare armor.
So Expert's monocle on boss fights. Knight's amulets and trainer's gloves to start a run always helps.
CS = Cooled Steele
Challenges. In the upper right hand we can increase the challenge multiplier. If it starts to get too high for single clicking, holding ctrl+shift while clicking and pressing enter gets the cue up faster.
Running any challenge increases the equipment quality multiplier. DF is solid with a focus on defense shredding/piercing to just have fun leveling up once you get used to how to sort gear and perks.
CS is a bit harder since there's no perks to assign from the start and dealing with the level cap gets easier with higher quality gear but I at least still have to pay attention on a CS run... but the equipment modifier goes higher on that one with less runs... since it's harder.
For the challenge multiplier, once we've done 6 or so runs of a challenge, then the challenge multiplier itself can increase by 6 now. With Dwindling Fire if you're willing to do about 56 runs... that should be a decent set of SSS gear in the least. 6 runs to get the multiplier started then 50 to get the challenge multiplier up to 300.
The soul coin multiplier keeps going up by 5 no matter how far you go in any of them, but the equipment quality multiplier drops pretty significant in higher levels.
So a lot of players have gotten used to running CS at higher levels. As RG's still in early access ... I'm not in a rush about it so I got pretty far in both.
how is your max gear drop @1600DF going?
I am at 1200DF and it started dropping between 1100-1200 3times.
The thing for me is DF vs CS is fun to play. I can do CS, but I'm not interested in anymore runs (above 300) until we see what the next release, A level and all that will be.
So putting in a few DF runs is probably what I'd be doing anyway in between life stuff.
