Corruption Stats

So I tried searching around but couldn't get a straight answer. What does the Corruption Stat do exactly?

Its bugged? it always shows the last information that have been displayed...and if you go on this stat first it isn´t comprehensible

Corruption increases all the monster difficulty by increasing health, speed, etc, and buffs the amount of exp you get by less.

This post is super outdated, and the whole menu got reworked, you simple select the stat with the gamepad (however I don't remember if the navigation issues got fixed in 0.9.1 or if it was only added in the current beta)
