had 2 survivors-like games where the dev balanced too much and the game feels like a classic top down shooter, not a survivors like.
I think the game is in a pretty good state right now. Each avatar has their own power curve and none feel too strong or too weak. Necro is the easier class to chew through a lot of content but for the higher end Knight and Gunslinger can reach higher highs last I checked. Merchant is also very good and fills its own niche.
Yeah i recently did a merchant run, starting with the death aura, ended up with the amulet, the blood steal ability, and both the arcane beam advanced weapons because of the unbanish card. Most cards i would wait on them at lv6, wait for thier card to be on merchants level up, choose card selection, reroll to get their 7th, and then buy thier 8th to skip the limitbreak fee. My aura size may have somehow bypassed the 300% limit that way.
Merchant only did 8 quadrillion as opposed to the 20 i did with necro.
So does this game calculate critical chance above 100% as additional overcrit? So 200% crit chance means double on top of the critical bonus?
100 dmg x 100% crit chance x 100% crit bonus = 200dmg
100 dmg x 300% crit chance x 200% crit bonus = 900dmg
So ideally breaking into the critical chance limits in the soul shop, reaching for upwards of 500% crit chance with 3000% crit bonus on builds using millions of max health with blood infusion power conversion would lead to some advanced weapons on lv8 pushing sextillions?
Without Hypercrit, crit chance above 100% does nothing.
With Hypercrit (something you buy in the shop), they used to scale 2x > 3x (for 200%) > 4x (for 300%) but since this patch:
It should be 2x (100% crit) > 4x (200% crit) > 8x (300% crit). I didn't see this change in the full patch notes; maybe I'm blind, but if it wasn't reverted, this is how it works right now.
Blood Transmutation has the potential to scale the most, but you need a lot of artifacts to maximize it. Zealot has few artifacts that benefit it, so it's a good second place to deal a lot of damage from -def.
