Survival mode query about timer

Is the timer in survival mode meant to go insane after 15 minutes reached and the 1st boss defeated?
I checked the items i have chosen through the run and none state time speed up.
Just i was enjoying the run and than the timer goes red and speeds up along with the enemies and amount and got overwhelmed very fast after this.
Did i accidentally press a speed up key bind or activate a curse or something or is this just how it goes, thankyou for any response.

Survival speeds up progressively once the final boss is defeated. This depends on the survival rank (F is 15 min, E is 20, D is 25, C is 30, or something like that, someone correct me because I'm sure these aren't the values). Afterwards time speeds up. If you reach 8 days or so (about 3h in real life) you end survival and reach Infinity, unlocking the Corrupted Avatar.

Thank you now i understand, just so used to playing other endless mode type games where the timer hasn't done this before so was confused. Now i know the times for each Rank i can try plan the run for the speed up part :)

Also because bosses spawn every 5 minutes, the other ranks have more artifacts for you to collect.
