Evolved weapons and achievements

Do kills with evolved versions of weapons count towards achievements?

For example will kills with "Artificer's Katana" count as Katana kills for the "Vergil's Style" achievement?

Nope - that'd deprive them of the smug satisfaction of pointing out that the answer was buried somewhere in the forums, because we should all know them top to bottom or else!

I know this wasn't asked but using a trainer's glove to start katana out at a high level and limiting weapons to one or two can help remove the temptation to evolve weapons too if you want to move a little faster through the card system in the attempts.
