Well, there's your problem right there. Maybe just... don't put a thousand enemies on the screen at the same time?
It's definitely not making the gameplay any better. I'd say it makes the game far worse. Filling every single pixel of the screen with hyper-fast enemies makes avoiding them impossible. The only viable strategy for later stages is build up enough defenses that you can facetank everything. It not even a power fantasy anymore. It's just an idle game that plays at slideshow speeds.
Some adaptive settings would also make a world of difference. Like letting the player cap the number of enemies on screen, and increasing the health of the existent ones proportionally. Same with projectiles/attack-speed redistributing to damage.
Dude Even my corshair 1050 watt PSU running: 64 gigs of ddr4 ram, 3900x 12 core, 3090 FTW 3 Ultra, dropped to 4 fps on VS in some situations..
Kill some enemies or lower the settings
Potato's and toasters shouldn't bend down for super computers and enthusiast builds.
gotta love a hoard shooter with a few 100 enemies on screen.
lol
And I'm already killing everything. But that doesn't make any difference when every enemy I kill is instantly replaced by another. I've already explained this. Twice.
The rest of your post is complete gibberish.

Want me to Hop Off Rouge Genesia and record it for ya??
It wont take me long with the Queens ultra going on max curse with hardmode and inverse maybe 2 runs long at worse
give me one hour and ill have VS running far worse than that guy with a few of my builds
Again, you're comparing a game which you are deliberately trying to break, to how Genesia runs normally.
For the record, I just had a lovely run at VS, where I completed an entire stage at a buttery-smooth FPS, even with my potato computer. Compare that to the freezing and frame-drops I get when entering the overworld in Genesia.
pretty sure the dev answered that . doesn't change I wasn't making stuff up or "gibberish"
I havent mentioned i cannot literally fight the first flying enemies ar First stage in 4k. The game runs in less than 30 FPS. It run only with everything set on low (i cannot run a cloud in the sky above my pixel character, lol)
game ran fine with my rig . then again I'm not trying to push everything on ultra on a 2K card
I dont know, but maybe there were some alternative options to creat a bullet paradise game without 1 FPS average speed. Maybe 2D synthetic shadows on enemies, maybe using another engine, It is very frustrating cannot run this game smoothly.
Another good game we can compare is Soulstone Survivor, a brazilian gem built with unity and all 3D models based.

I appreciated very much your presence here. It was a high quality debate. I learned a lot. Thks.
np . but soulstone survivor also lags to a crawl even Holocure its a cpu and gpu issue not just one or the other. even Nova drift lags on certain builds.
sry man but thats not a bug its a expectation.
I will say the optimization is rough on parts if the game cant clear up and ends up crashing that I will agree is an optimization issue.
Literally all you've done this thread is insist that OP's computer is bad, and claim that other games can also lag too sometimes.
All I'm asking is; If this game engine wasn't designed to show a thousand enemies and a thousand projectiles all colliding with each other on screen at once, then why does it do that anyway?
It's not a power fantasy. It's just benchmarking for the sake of it.
2 - Unreal is a mess of an engine, especially right now, the game could run the same performance with 100 time the crashes, anyone saying "Should run on unreal would be better" never actually worked on Unreal Engine
3 - The Enemies count don't cause the issues on performances, the projectiles does
4 - You can win the game without taking ton of projectile and attack speed without activelly lagging the game, actually, just taking projectile and attack-speed is a sub-optimal way.
5 - 95% of the engines wouldn't be able to handle the game anyways, and you simply don't change engine in the middle of a release without remaking the game from scratch on a new engine, this won't happen, and there is no use complaining about that.
6 - Nerfing anything about projectiles/attack speed build will get people to complain I nerf thing, lowering the enemies ammount will result in the same situation where people will be unhappy how it's not as fun, so this won't happen either
7 - I see no one complaining even give a ♥♥♥♥ to read the damn post about optimisation
