Size doesn't matter at all
I had an epiphany while playing - I give up size for strength, speed, and piercing every time.

I literally care not whether I have the largest spear or the smallest arrow, I aim for the maximum impact for each attack. Piercing is the most important factor when selecting a proper tool for the masses. When I have multiple holes, I fill them with more weapons - not just one big one. The elites don't go down faster just because I'm wielding a massive Katana, they will still fall to their knees for my critical hit abilities well before my size plays a role.

I guess I could see how size might matter if all you're using is a little Pike, but with enough speed, even the smallest of Pikes can reach all the way to the back.

Size just doesn't matter at all.

It depends. Break out the Artificer's Katana - size directly influences the explosion size. At the end of my last survival run, with 750% size, the entire screen was strobing red.

Against single targets, size may not matter, but when you're trying to clear swarms of mobs, size can actually make a huge difference on how wide a path gets cleared, and how many mobs are left for your closer range weapons to deal with.

It's true that Size can have some solid impact and payoff when you build into it, but I overall agree with the OP. The truth isn't that Size is bad - it's that most other stats are just so much better. So when those cards come along that allow you to trade Size for something way more impactful like amount, speed, cooldown, whatever... you should always be picking them. Size is never the more valuable trait in the tradeoff cards.

TL;DR - Size does matter, sort of. It just doesn't matter when compared to other stats.

Unless there's an achievement or goal that requires size, I almost never touch it. When you have something like Fractal, size is pointless.

Size is one of the biggest factors in Survivor's. Not so much in Rog's, but in late game Survivor's you need all the projectiles hitting multiple enemies due to their HP.

Their HP means nothing when you have crits killing them instantly. Try a negative defense crit build, you'll understand what I'm saying.

I've tried every archetype I can think of. I'm #1 in Survivor's time - https://steamcommunity.com/stats/2067920/leaderboards/9351388

Negative Defense Crit build can't cut through their HP after 6 days. Even when Transmutation cards scaled with Damage % before that was hotfixed and you could hit for quadrillions it was still not enough to dent through the exponentially scaling HP. But even if you were dealing damage fast enough, without extremely high projectile size you can't really deal with the hordes that spawn since you need to kill as many enemies as you can with one hit on top of overloaded proj speed, time, and 1000% ASPD.

Okay, so aside from the unlikely event we last 10 days in survivor mode, size doesn't matter. Happy?

We can just agree to disagree. For Rog's and most modes any combination works just the same. You can stack 40 projectiles and go for Crossbow + Shuriken combo and even if they're invisible you'll clear the screen very fast, yes, but a +18 projectiles Cleaver with max size will do the same plus. I think if you have a very small budget and have to split between certain utilitarian cards (so not damage increasing cards), proj speed/proj lifetime/multi projectiles/proj size have their weights varying differently from your build. Proj Size obviously matters a lot in Artificer's Katana. Multiple Projectiles doesn't do much if you're playing with the Rogue Avatar. Proj Speed is the only one that I would always rank #1 because it's generally much more broad in its use and efficiency.

Maybe size will matter more later in situations, since the builds will become more complex. But in the current public build, size doesn't matter pre-6 days survival.

Truth. The amount of sympathy I have for a person who is proud their game played itself for 10 days is immense. It's almost worse than saying "I'm really good at washing dishes."

It bothers me that you don't know time speeds up at the end of survival.

I wish that Area and Size were the same stat like in Vampire Survivors. Like, does Area only affect weapons that don't use a projectile to deal damage IE: Death Aura and Fire Ring? I've played around with Size a few times, but to really start getting any benefit from it you have to go *hard* on it and not get anything that reduces their size. This game's projectiles are so tiny to start out with that you can barely tell what they are.
