- Start a normal run, rank doesn't matter.
- Ignore the card: average, but don't banish it, just ignore.
- At the end of a stage before the shop when you choose a card you MUST get one that increases your base health or max health multiplier so that once you enter the shop you won't be at max health.
- While at the shop go to card selection and try to get the epic card: overworked (make sure you have it unlocked). Spam your rerolls if necessary.
- Once you choose it the heal option in the shop will cost NaN. Click it. Done.
Here are some thoughts on what could be going wrong for you. Perhaps there's some range in where you can't be too damage or something in order for it to work? think the reason the bug/achievement exists is due to some math error so being too damage could indeed be a reason in why it's not breaking correctly. Perhaps another reason is rerolling the shop after you buy the cursed belt also may cause the bug to not manifest?
I think when you buy the thing that reduces your max health, it has to reduce it below your current health, so being at 10% hp, your current health would still be way below your max health, so healing would still work normally.
It's pretty RNG, but you can restart until you have a map with lots of shops, then just do like Calm Koala says and get a max-health-increasing card (except Flesh) at the end of each level that's before a shop. If the shop doesn't have what you need, you can reroll once or twice, but otherwise save your gold for the next one.
That or you could do the same thing to manipulate the belt's RNG if you have a good gold run.
Okay thanks all guys! seems like as some of you were suggesting, entering the shop being super low on HP does not work, you need to have some little hp missing from taking an extra HP card and then picking the Overworked one.
Again, million thanks! i had tried so many times and made me so frustrated i didnt even want to play and get the new weapons added until i got this done haha
