Just annoying, everything I try, pirates on red side, really bad, spearman failed, everything failed

Getting past an enemy that has MREs that blow up 5 men at once, and them launching Dots at a 3-1 ratio makes level 27 seemingly impossible. I have tried multiple combinations of opening moves with different types of units, and all results are the same. The resource cap runs out, my buildings get destroyed. Would love some insight from anyone who has found a unit combo that can get past this level. I can't seem to figure out unit health stats either. Do any of them provide more defensive capability or perk...
