Issue with DL & Install

This is rather odd and I'm not entirely sure what to make of it but I used to play this game way back when, uninstalled it etc. But today I noticed it was on Steam now, or has been on Steam for some time, so I decided to redownload it.

Now the game I thought was only 9 - 10 GB once you got everything installed or atleast I remember it being about that size before. My original download in June of 2010 was only 3.8 GB and that was for the "High Resolution" version. However today once my download was completed I had about 186.7 GB of hard disk space left. But now that I'm going through the install it's plummetted to 36 GB and I'm not entirely sure what to make of that.

Is this about right for the rest of you?

Edit: Now i'm down to 29.58 GB.

The steam version for Windows 8 Release preview is bugged. If you're using Windows 8 RP you have to use the turbine client.
