Can't make an account

Hey so every time I try to make an account for the game I just get a 500 error code and nothing ever loads clearing memory and cookies does nothing and trying a different computer does nothing I just want to play this game with my friends.

had the same issue. Solved by including uppercase and numbbers in my username(i also chedekd all boxes, like email subscribtion just incase)

If you are having problems making an account on the website:
- Make sure adblocker extentions are disabled and turn web scripts blockers off.
- Make sure Javascript is On in the browser you are using.
- Open a fresh browser, Type DDO.com in the URL bar and enter, click on Register link at top right corner of page.
- It has a ReCaptcha thing that you have to check to complete the account, if you fail the reCaptcha, your signup fails.
- It has a Terms of Service and Privacy Policy Check mark that you have to complete for new account.
- Valid passwords are between 8 and 15 characters and Must have at least 1 capital letter, at least 1 lower case letter, and at least 1 number, all within 15 characters. Don't use spaces or apostrophes, only use shifted number special characters !@#$%^*()
- Make sure you have confirmed the password.
- Make sure you put in an Email address that has not been used for any other Turbine or SSG account or game.
- Make sure you have put in the date of your birth. You have to be 18 yrs. old to signup.
- Make sure your Username is unique for this signup. At least 1 capital letter, at least 1 lower case letter, and at least 1 number. A valid username should be between 6 to 25 characters, and can contain alphanumeric characters, commas, periods, and underscores. Sequential underscores are invalid.
- Try different web browsers like Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera, etc.
- Try a different device like a smartphone, laptop, or tablet in a different location.
- Try making account at different times, or keep trying, if it fails. Maybe website is too busy or Down at that time.
- If you are still failing, be aware SSG blocks IPs from certain regions of the world, try using a VPN to sign up, you can play later without the VPN.
- Make sure you are using an email address that will stay with you wherever you go, like a website email service and make sure they don't close that email address from lack of use or no payment.
- Make sure your email account is Not sending mail from SSG to the spam or blocking it.

I've been trying for days now, and I have adblock turned off, have used different browsers, have tried on my tablet, have tried different usernames and email addresses. I've tried registering through the launcher, I've tried from the DDO account website, even the LOTRO site. NOTHING is happening to let me register, I ALWAYS get the 500 error that the web site is not working. I had an old LOTRO account ages ago, but since it won't send me a password recovery email either, after trying several different ways, I'm using new credentials to no avail. I'm pretty sure at this point that it is NOT ME, and from what I see I'm not alone in this. Very frustrated now, just about ready to uninstall without playing at all.

Call your ISP. Make sure you are using an Easy password and username that is unique.

i had this issue.. i just used microsoft edge.. i never really use microsoft edge and i just launched in fresh and created the acc.. for some reason you cant create accounts on chrome.. had the same issue with lotro

Imho the best option you have is contacting their support. If you have a lotro account as well its the only option to make a ddo account without needing a second email (if that is your issue).

Ssd's account system is a bit "dated", but from my experience their support is responsive (replys within one working day) and helpful.

Thank you all for your replies, I was able to make an account, after trying a few different computers and trying over and over again I made my password without the & symbol in it and it worked right away. Apparently if you make the password with certain symbols the page will just blank out when instead of letting you know what went wrong. thanks for all your advise and help.

THAT WAS IT. I kept trying to Ampersand & in my password, and Thanks to DryBone's comment, I used another special character and it worked the first time. What a weird bug.

yeah and it doesn't kick it back saying it was a bad password, the screen just goes blank.

Lovely. Wonder if there are more symbols that doesn't work then.
