How to Palemaster?
Help, I'm getting bodied in dungeons. I know I'm still new to the game, but this is ridiculous. Currently level 8 Palemaster. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I wont be able to check that for another couple of hours till I get home. But I'm usually trying to do hard(?) level if only to get the xp bonus.

PM is a very challenging build to play. To make it really fly requires investment in tomes and past lives to bring spell DCs up. Add to that immunity to normal healing and the necessity to heal yourself through negative energy (death aura, etc) and it's even harder. You definitely have to max intelligence and take SF & GSF: Necromancy all the Spell Pen you can find and any Necro DC boosting items you can find. Beyond that, I'm not sure. I have yet to feel confident enough to build one. :)

A guildie earned her name Little Neggy TenTen (and got a pet wraith named after her for it, plus a few songs made) for going undead form, then exploding when hit by light spells from mobs.

PM vs divine casters ? Teh-muse.

I've heard a bunch of disatisfaction with the survivability of your undead helper too.

Oh yeah. Avoid quests where they throw light-based spells. The 2x-4x light damage vulnerability (depending on form) is VERY nasty. You can probably find a list of such quests somewhere, but the one I remember best is Running with the Devils. PM meatgrinder.

Items that increase Negative damage vulnerability (so negative damage heals you for more) or reduce Light damage vulnerability are also wise investments.

Out of date though, as seems every drow priestess hurls it...so Portal Opens, Matrons in Broken Chains and Death Undone [but not rusted blades, their matron is a melee machine], the Hostage one in KF.

Not sure about the Shar priestesses in Wheloon, since though divine it'd be highly ironic.

I don't think I've ever seen my Skeleknight actually die. I'm always the first one to die, while he goes and clears the room.

Hmm that's a good idea too. Would it generally just be a better idea to invest in something else before going PM? It feels like I kind of screwed myself over as is.

You will need to train Heal since The one update the tied negitive energy into heal skill: yea that's DDO logic.
AH palemasters - my favorite and was going to be my final build but that day will never come.

The key to pale master is the spells: and knowing how to use them- and managing your spell power, hard to master but deadly once you learn.

I spent hours playing around wilderness doing slayers to get my spell bars set up right, cool of timers, etc

Primary attacks should be your bolts that have the longest range-
level 1 - spells (common)
Nic's Cold Ray - long range - eats up little spell points
level 3 spells
Frost lance - closer range targets.

Level 4 Spells
Wall of Fire
Negative Energy Burst (This will heal and damage attackers at the same time)
Niac's Biting Cold ( Damage over time Must have) stacks 3X
Eladar's Electric Surge (Dot - Stacks 3x

Level 6
Necrotic Ray- Bolt
Disintegrate - Bolt

once you get 3 Wiz and 3 FVS passt lives-
Phansmal killer will insta kill every thing = Cake walk - Even some bosses
Then you get FOD (Drool's) Finger of Death, = solo running with the Devils - increase spell range feat
And don't leave the ship with out your disco ball.

Just rermember - i was running wiz king elite solo, and fighting one of the options, had him down to half health - and hit necro ray by accident and it crit and he was at full health,

i have a lvl 16 non tr palemaster warforged wizard, if i am not in undead mode i still can repair myself, i tend to melee more then ranged blast while i have some spare mana, use master weapon spell to equip a decent melee weapon and have a high Con, have light armor equiped. Have not really played anything my level yet although with him. Whie using the skellyknight and summon monster and a warforged fighter hireling. i am a walking light squad. Spell wise i use the ray spells, sonic blast, etc. I don't run around in undead mode alot.
