Unlimited Bank Space: then I will come back to DDO.
I am an old DDO player who got tired of shuffling the TONS of gear and stuff around and around the bags and slots. I would HAPPILY pay an SUBSCRIPTION FEE for a non-tedious storage solution.
Hell, I would pay EXTRA to get it.
DDO is a great game, but to HELL with all the micro-item managing.
Devs: pls find a solution.

1) You get 4 bags easily through reputation.
2) You can by storage with your subscription Turbine Points.
3) Profit.
No matter how much storage you get, you'll always want more. Pretty sure with infinite storage someone will still find a way to need '+1'. [In one game had three merchants with 180 slots of space each, plus multiple accounts with 500 slots of shared storage..and still filled 'em all. More space just meant more crap that escapes purging].

As it stands:
You can currently get 100 slots of shared space.
You can get 795 shared storage for anything that would go in a collectible/ingrediant/gem bag.*
Stacks were increased to 1k for thief picks and a few other things were increased.

Not AS useful but:
Characters can get 40 more individual bank slots, for 100 slots total.
Characters can get 3 more inventory bags for 140~160 slots (lost track if char on did CL2 favour)

*I filled mine with gems. Find large bags more convenient for moving ingrediants and collectibles, and they won't let me fill the airship hold with gems to sleep on.
I think that a very large amount of bank space for players would make the lag even worse than it is now. This is the reason the devs haven't allowed more than 100 Shared Bank slots.
Nonsense. How do you think that tag line of code will cause lag?

Eve Online has basically unlimited storage. It's great as i can focus on other more important things.

I played DDO 5 yrs off and on.
constantly moving inventory and and bags that take inventory gets old.

I'll check back in a few years to see of Turbine gets it right.
Eve has unlimited storage on starbases, not on active characters, and you can see a minor hit when you enter a starbase if you do access a huge vault.

It's NOT a tagline of code, it's a linked database entry connected to other tables with properties and such. The more you carry, the larger a footprint your character has on the server. This is partially why bank/vault storage is larger than personal storage.

Feel free to reincarnate and have a full (and I mean 'i shoved 260 items into) cache, while having maxed out shared storage and bought out bank tabs and inventory tabs full. There is an appreciable hit, compared to a fresh character hitting their first Harbour bank npc.

But again please tell me how eve got it right:
http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=894228

and remember how cutting edge Eves servers have ever been. There is fresh blood on their tech.

EDIT: guildie pointed out a solution. Have every bank npc be a different stationorage. Suddenly tonnes of space! Though...did I leave my staff in Gianthold or in Eveningstar...

"Eve has unlimited storage on starbases, not on active characters, and you can see a minor hit when you enter a starbase if you do access a huge vault."

Do you have any idea what you are talking about?
Obviously you are just making it up.
I Played Eve 8 yrs.
you can store 100000000 tons of ♥♥♥♥ in hangers in stations. Btw there are over 5000 solar systems.
Eve is also a sandbox game. How do they do it??

I haven't played DDO since right past the Forgotten Realms addition.
I have all the character tabs, all the bank tabs, and shiiitload of mat bags.
There still isn't enough space for gear. There is tons of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in DDO.
When i work hard to get a lower level gear set, i dont want to have to dump it as i progress, especially in case i TR.
I suspect the limited bank space is money maker for Turbine points.
I know guys who have ♥♥♥♥ tons of storage characters. I refuse to do this.
I'll just play another game till Turbine figures it out.

Congrats. You've played Eve a few years less than I have. Obviously you're a noob and thus no clue how things work :P

So, how much was in your ships cargo hold? Infinite? Can I use your ship to mine? This is what meant by 'your character isn't running around with infinite storage' c.f. ddo inventory

Now vaults are only loaded on access, and tend to be more generous, but even still... when you're sitting in null in your guild's cap's hanger, you've access to your storage back on Jita? You're telling me I totally wasted skilling Marketing? Why did I have to go to the other system to pick up stuff?

Could it be...when you vault, you only access what's on that station, and so it's not loading things on other stations? i.e. they are different tables of data and so it isn't an intense singular load per access but on-demand segregated?

And congrats on dismissing everyone else's experiences with load time on access because you didn't.

If it's that central to your experience, nobody will convince you otherwise. Frankly, I'm fine with people who have some specific criterion that DDO doesn't meet and thus don't want to play. People who simply dis EVERYTHING about DDO based on nothing but a negative attitude.. not so much.

Writing a long essay doesn't make you more knowledgeable . Your emotional story telling makes you look childish as well, and it is painful to read your responses.

Eve stations have virtually unlimited storage in stations. Stop calling people noobs when you are the obvious dope.
I ran 3 region traders in Eve for years. Lived in WHs for years.

To bring up ship cargo holds and tower structures is idiotic, although star base structures still have an assston of space.

DDOs storage situation just sucks.

You butthurtt fanbois are hilarious. What are you going to do when DDO is gone for ever?

BTW i think ddo has awesome content and is a great game.

It needs proper (unlimited) storage space.
What server(s) you on and can I have your stuff?

Even with 15 lives i never had issues with all the shared bank spaces and max bags on my main toon. Lockers where used to collect misc crap for crafting, rare scrolls, Equ for alternate characters, and stat tomes. TR banks are unlimited one-way storage and only have to be cleared out when you TR. So i don't see problems with storage. P.s 1 Gargantuan Gem bag and ing. bag stores everything the game can possible drop.

one answer for you. stop hording the useless junk then you won't have that issue anymore. you blame turbine for your lack of discarding items and holding on to everything you get. that is a personal issue not theirs.

i thought about holding on to stuff then i realized how some of it was such junk or there were better setups out there then what i had. in all games items get outdated at some point or another. time to move on from some of the old gear.

Some of that "junk" is good gear for low levels that i worked for.
AND FFS DDO keeps adding what you call "junk" and i call "cool stuff".
