Dungeons & Dragons Online®

Don't pay for this.
The cheating in this game is widespread, turdbin is clueless and even has well known cheaters and dupers on their player council.

It's pathetic really.

Ooor just don't buy things off the astral shard auction hall, and go on your merry way. They have no benefit otherwise. Be like refusing to play Baldur's Gate or buy its expansion, because someone uses a cheat save game.

id love to no what you class as cheating

Well there has been widespread duping for at least the last 4 months. Top tier items are mostly all dupes, and 0.01% drops are no longer super rare, just a matter of real money coming out of your pocket due to the mass amounts of duping. Not only that, but people are duping bind on pickup items, and selling them because they are dupes and don't follow standard rules.

There is a lot of info on it out there, just look. I'd saying item duplication in an MMO is "cheating"
XDeadzX has it. It's hit a few times/still hits.. but the stacks of Shroud ingrediants/Thunderwhatever ingrediants etc... yeha..

It's far from legit for 40 stacks of 20 green dragon scales to be on the asah...when in 60 runs of the damn thing, in a party of 5, we still haven't hit 20.

It's assuredly an exploit/bug, it's why the stupid bag interface changes... and something needing address.

It's not imo a reason to quit the game though as it isn't pvp...some guy cheating for items doesn't really negatively impact you...if you only stay in your group of players. That said, that's a naieve view, since it will impact your sales, your pug groups etc... but if you're really isolationist, it's a non-issue.

A blackeye to turbine assuredly, but not a knockout-punch like were this a game balanced on player versus player. Hax gear in another guild beating some raid doesn't impact mine...not even sure half them know HOW to open the ASAH :P

prob same peeps who were duplicating the ddo anniversary gifts...that said, hardly a reaon for not playing as peeps with higher lvl gear will not adversly affect your own gameplay...but my response is from a peep who does not use the AH...I get gear the old fashion way
darkzie Sep 29, 2014 @ 8:46am
so ya sayin ppl are duplicating items? how is it possible
darkzie Sep 29, 2014 @ 8:49am
shurley the only people who would be able to get away with these things are the developers, wouldnt ya adverage dude get caught and banned?
Rodfather Sep 29, 2014 @ 8:53am
i thk if i heard right, the duplcators who did the ddo anniversay gifts were banned for like two weeks but I am not really a person in the know...all i know if you play with a peep who seemingly has an endless suppply of bottled tornadoes, they likely, at the very least, traded with a duplicator...at least it makes the quest go fast lol
darkzie Sep 29, 2014 @ 9:00am
each to ther own init :) i havnt spent any real cash in game for ages now n dont think i ever wil everythink is well to expencive in my oppinion no wonder ppl cheatin
Fino Sep 29, 2014 @ 9:40am
Considering its not a PvP game, why would you care if anyone cheats?

I have several hundred 'bottled tornadoes' if by that you mean air elemental gems. Earned them fair and square playing Crystal Cove .. they're a pretty cheap item to spend all those useless dubloons on toward the end of the event each year.

assume he's actually talking about the bottled tornados (cards 4 & 10 if i remember rightly), you can see the item on the ddo wiki (http://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Bottled_Tornado).

Have about 8 of them left in my inventory, but only ever managed to get one batch of 15 and only use them in emergencies.

Have run with guys though who just storm through quests throwing them at everything, each to their own. Usually a sign that the person isnt that good at actually building a toon that can survive or be useful in a party.

Cheating exists in most games, you need to be fairly lame to cheat in this one though as its so easy to make plat (currently a dozen toons with several million in plat on each - nothing really to spend it on..).

Good gear does help, but if you havent bothered learning the game or your abilities then the best gear really isnt going to help, besides, the best gear is always subjective - depends heavily on your build.

Not sure how the game is fun if you cheat your way thru that way. Then again, I don't understand the XP Stone mindset either: Why would you pay close to $50. to NOT play a life? Are there really classes you hate THAT badly (and still want completionist)? Even if there are, making a multiclass toon with that class as 8-11 levels of the split and then buying up to a +3 LR Heart to swap those levels before TRing would cost about 1/3 of that. Some people just want the uber-powerful toon without working for it. Triple completionist + Triple epic completionist would run, what, 4 stones per life (I THINK they're about 2mil XP/stone, so I'm assuming 1 heroic + 3 epic stones/life)? x 13 classes = about 50 stones at close to $50. each? You too can have the most uber toon on the server for a mere $2500. (Plus whatever you pay for Astral Shards to buy uber gear, I suppose.. anything not Bound). Just don't see the fun in that. Once you get there, then what?

Then you quit the game and repeat it in a new game. I've a guildmember like that: it isn't uncommon that he throws hundreds of dollars into a game, getting everything and such... and then quitting for the next new shiny, all the while bemoaning the previous game wasn't that fun. He lasted a week in ddo.

Good riddance.
