Dungeons & Dragons Online®

I need a name for my character.
I downloaded Dungeons and Dragons online for my Mac on Steam. I took a really long time, but I finally got it finished. And then, when I was creating a character, I found out I needed a name for him. I tried typing names like 'Lucas' or 'Aaron', but they were all either "not allowed" or "already taken". Can anyone help me come up with an original name for my character? I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.

Look to Bible the old name (very nice) ancient testament
Be so much easier were surnames material in determining if distinct.

Typical solutions involve baby-name books, baby-name books in other languages, and hybriding objects/emotions/concepts. You can also mis/variant spell (ayron, eyron, ayrron) if determined. Good luck.

hahaha yeah, I had the same problem when I made my human wizard girl...

For the first name I entered practically everything under the sun - even the name of the wife of the founder of The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, an occult organization founded in 1888(!) - taken. *are you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me?! Nope.* Then I entered the Sumerian goddess name 'Astarte', but that was taken, so I changed the end to 'Astartis' and it FINALLY took it. The book "The Secret Doctrine" by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky was sitting beside me on my side table, so I entered 'Blavatsky' as the surname.

I was beginning to think it was a bug or something! LOL

A lot of people have played this game over a lot of years. And since names never get released, that means a lot of possibilities have been taken.

I think I would just go with something you like (or at least do not hate). I think you should know that the ONLY thing you cannot change with true (heroic/iconic) reincarnations is your name. Everything else, gender, look, race, classes, skills, etc. can be changed.
Next, you should know that in DDO many players use voice chat (if they do not write your name). When doing this they shorten your name if they can. Meaning if you went with "WolfBoy" then they might just call you "Wolf". So say your name a few times out loud and go with something short, something that cannot be shortened or something where you like the obvious shortening. Do not go with something that is very difficult to say ("ggghjjgh") - Or well, that could also be a different kind of fun. (In this case I would likely just call the person GG or triple G, people make up your name in DDO ^^)

Good advice. I made a toon called "Tankitty" (Tank-itty, in my mind). I did not consider that the obvious reading of it was Tan-kitty, which leads people to consider it feminine. Been hit on a few times when I didn't have voice active. (And really, guys, do you have to hit on every person who might be female with no encouragement whatsoever? No wonder we have trouble getting a decent ratio of females in our games and the ones we do often refuse to use voice chat and reveal their gender.).

What always works:
1) Type some random letters
2) Add vowels

Example:
"sdgf"
"Sudogif"

There's so many completely random names that you will encounter that I don't doubt some use this method lol
