i know people can always go palemaster but i don't know if some are ready for the damage you take. there are so many mobs that use light spells so you're pretty much near dead a lot of the time if it hits you so i don't always point people that way.
PaleMaster doesn't fly well without tomes or multiple lives, regardless of race.
WF arcane casters are otherwise the most common, as Tae says. Next is probably WF Artificers. And an 18 Wizard/2 Rogue build can be fun. Those are probably the most common choices. WF lost some love when some of their immunities were nerfed a couple of years back, so you don't see as many of them anymore.
There's also a bit of a niche for WF Monks and Favored Souls.
i would not recommend a wf druid. when you turn in animal form or elemental you lose the wf abilities pretty much. so in reality it just becomes a waste to do.
