Game won't launch

Running on a Surface, Windows 11, 64 bit ...
Run from Steam, nothing happens, no errors, don't know if there is a log file I can look at?

Looks like MSCV100.dll error if I try to launch directly from file system instead of Steam Launcher ... Might need to reinstall the MSVC++ distributable package?

did you ever figure it out? im having similar issues with windows 11 rn, tried 32 bit and 64 bit no errors but after i login and select world launcher closes and nothing happens.

I wish I had a solution ... still stumped :-( It works on 1 of my laptops but not the other ... I'm going to look at the files in the steam directories and see if something is missing

- Try using DX 10 or DX 9 if you are having problems with DX 12. Might have to install DX 10, 9 and 11 on a new Windows 10 OS load.

- For minor graphic problems, Try using Detect Optimal Setting check in Graphics tab of the Options while running the game.

- Make sure your Firewall and active defending anti-malware programs have DDO directory or game exes in exceptions.

- Make sure you are running the game as Administrator or an account with administrator rights.

- Use the troubleshooting compatibility options in Windows OS.

- Game crashes or not runs after pressing "Play" button on launcher. >

So far tried different Direct X versions, turned off firewall ran launcher as administrator, updated MSVC++ distributable libraries ... nothing has worked so far ... If i try to launch the client locally, not through steam i get error for missing dll in the MSVC libraries but re-installing the libraries and the game itself have not resolved that issue. And looking on other working systems, the DLL in question does not exist there either so I don;t think that is the issue since other functioning systems also do not have that dll... frankly I'm out of ideas.

- There are log files in the DDO game folder, you can read them with notepad. Open the local file folder, sort by type, find text docs in types, read the x.log files, that are dated with current date and time. You might be able to find an error hint, if you read through current log.

- If your game client not running on Windows 10 or Windows 11, try: Look in the DDO directory for the 3rdParty folder and run all the .exes you find there while the game is Not running and under Admin rights account.

I did try the third party folder and ran all of the files there as Admin ... After the re-install completes I will try to run it again and f it fails I can check the logs, thanks for letting me know where they are located :-)

OK I'm going to throw in the towel... I've run all the third party apps, reinstalled Direct-X, Downloaded newer version of MSVC++ libraries, uninstalled and re-installed the game 3 times, turned off the firewall, tried running the client as user and Administrator, looked through all of the logs I could find ... and I came up with nada.

Thanks for offering your help I appreciate but I think I'm gonna call it quits on DDO

Trying to play myself but after a few failed patch updates the game would play sound but no visuals, i reinstalled/repaired, i log in and then it closes and nothing pops up. Ran from the folder but still the same. Oh well DDO. Would love to see a fully fledged DDO experience with support.
