And, as Dondu mentions, another option is to use keyboard controls: Q or <backspace> highlights things and E interacts with them (by default; can be changed in Key Mapping).
And, on the topic of Key Mapping, that's where to look to see if it has somehow been changed.

its very strange, last night, I joined the game and it was fixed! i think the controls change when, Im about to start the game, and a text asking me for use direct x11 or 9 appears
Hmm.. shouldn't But again, this is one I hadn't encountered. Hard to say whether it is/was a game problem, an OS problem or a mouse problem. Just glad if it's fixed itself. ;)
