Launcher won't start? Try this
I was struggling with the game, because I installed on another PC and it won't start, even the Launcher wasn't opening.
The game was working well under Windows 10 21H1 on the other PC, in this one (same OS version) won't.

1) try installing everything you see in the folder .\Steam\steamapps\common\Dungeons and Dragons Online\3rdparty

2) follow Step One here: https://help.standingstonegames.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002036287--Nothing-happens-after-clicking-Play-on-the-launcher-OR-Game-crashes-after-clicking-play-on-the-launcher-

(My Launcher did start as soon as I installed the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update" with the link provided by the previous guide, here's the direct link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999 )

3) if it's not working, continue following the guide, maybe your problem lies there.

EDIT 28/01/2022: I had a new problem: Launcher starts but the game won't (or start with black screen and crashes).
Go into your "Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online\CEF" folder and delete the "CachePath" folder.

Wish we had stickies here. Between myself and two or three other regulars here—we’ve posted that SSG tech page probably 100 times over the course of multiple years.

Your link to the MS C++ dl won’t work because of the parenthesis at the end.

Good job searching and fixing your problem. There are definitely multiple things that can cause the issue, and that SSG page is the best place to start for this issue.

Fixed the link, thanks.

I tried to search everywhere on google, here, D&D Online forum, nothing worked. Then I finally found that official technical guide and it finally solved the problem (at least that one).

I hope this will help as a most recent post (that will be hidden from first results in a couple of days....)
