Yea I just tried it, got a 'can't put in account bank' when I tried to move it over to the shared storage. Oh well, just a thought.
I don't think they're Gold Seal, either. Just a freebie. The one that comes with the Starter Pack is a Gold Seal hire, so you can summon her anywhere in a quest, or even multiple times (assuming the timer allows).
Question... What's the connection icon?
And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I didn't know you could save your UI Layout!!
Curiosity question... If you're going to use your Daily Dice XP to get you to L3, Why not just start your toon at L4 from the get go, then run the Korthos quests for favor (faster) afterwards? I personally get the Korthos favor as I'm leveling, but if you're going to bump yourself up anyway, why pay for it with DD?
Connection icon is a green/yellow/red icon that shows the state of your connection with the server (ping, lost packet %age, download and upload instantaneous volume: i.e. at this moment) when you hover over it.
That's why I mention the ui layout save/load from time to time. It's easy to overlook. And redoing it every TR gets to be a chore.
Veteran status (L4/L7/L10) is only available on a first life. When you TR, you start at L1: no exceptions (well, besides Iconics: but they're an entirely different beast). Thus I save the Daily XP every life and use it (or some of it) after TR.
Oh! gotcha.
There's a setting in Options that turns on or off the display of the connection icon, iirc.
Not how I would have made it, but so it goes.
Highly second this advice, Eli is great. I still pull her out and use her in mid and high level quests (and especially the larger adventure zones) just for the sp restoration and an extra set of hands for levers/feet for standing on triggers. Even when playing a toon without a blue bar, there's often a party member who can use a boost.
On this note, Sharn Syndicate and some of the other older quest chains still sometimes/mostly drop old-style items in the end rewards, which range from absolute trash to clickies and such that are absolutely amazing. You can also sometimes find them in some vendors, especially the one on a guild airship you can easily reset the instance for. Definitely worth farming those if you get a chance, for stuff like Shield and Jump clickies.
I don't go anywhere, even on high levels, without Shield, Invis, & Protection from Evil clickies. They're not as readily available in random lootgen anymore (haven't seen a Shield clicky in a ♥♥♥♥'s age), but there are some reasonably low level named ones available if all else fails. Jump is situationally useful or very handy if you're ranging and standing still: jump up and down and longer-range projectiles and ray spells will mostly miss.
If you melee, find an anti-ooze/rust monster weapon early. They cause damage to normal weapons. Muckbane from Durk's is glass (as are a few others). Everbright works (can be crafted). Worst case, grab a couple of wooden clubs and just throw them away when they break.
And, of course, other effects to consider implementing at a bare minimum by L10:
Fortification (100% by L10 is probably decent. Some things bypass fort, so don't stop there. ;) )
Deathblock
Death Ward (pot from Mysterious Remnants or clicky from Splinterskull chain end reward)
Freedom of Movement (pot from Mysterious Remnants or a few named items, usually boots)
Desireables:
Heroism or Greater Heroism
Blur, Displacement or other concealment
Ghostly or other incorporeality (Note: You'll also want Ghostly, Ethereal, etc if you play Reaper difficulty: reapers are incorporeal and the 50% miss chance for melee/ranged will get you dead.)
Spell absorption: Keeps beholders from negating your Death Ward and then instakilling you, among other uses.
Guest passes can only be used on friends and only show up as purchasable if you own the pack. There's no guest passes for Expansions, but all the packs you own should show up there.
Pretty sure there aren't guest passes for all packs, though.
It's a shame that there's no convenient way to see all the packs you own. Every method I can think of is annoying, difficult, and/or time consuming.
I stuff confirmation emails in a folder in my email client, though digging through there probably wouldn't be any better. On my F2P account, I maintain a list in a text document.
The only thing you really need to complete elite ,at low lvl, is ship buffs.(and a decent weapon)
Ask a fellow adventurer or join a topped out guild...the dam resist from the buffs is usually enough to compensate...until lvl 8 ish
If New>>> farm the collectibles , and sell them ... they can make you kinda rich in energy credits faster than anything at the beginning phase. of a character.
Yes, but.. did you even read the title of the OP? What part of 'New [...] player tips' didn't cover the idea that some of these were ideas to help someone who is a '1st lifer with no currency or saved items'?
Besides, I know lots of people with multiple past lives who love having the L3 Gold Seal hire. A quick SP top-up can be a life-saver even at high levels.
Followup re. oozes: no matter what your usual weapon set (TWF, THF, S&B, caster sticks), remember that oozes are very easy to hit. So feel free to whale away with a pair of clubs even without TWF or with a greatclub or maul even without THF (or proficiency) in order to maximize damage. TWF without the feat adds 20% to your number of hits, iirc, whereas THF weapons have higher base damage (and double the effect of Power Attack). If your to-hit is iffy, THF will only give you the proficiency penalty, whereas TWF will add the main/offhand penalties to that (though.. is there any class not proficient with clubs?).
