Error when launching the game
I just downloaded the game. After launch for first time it asked to download additional .NET files. After finish the game crashes with a D&D error windows saying "Internal Error, please contact customer support" and on the back the main screen opens saying initializing... but after clicking OK the whole game shuts down. There is no verify files enabled on game properties. Please help. Thanks.

Bad timing. They're currently down for a release-level update (bug fix). It either gives a "Game is down" error or an "INternal Error" while it's down. The latter isn't very clear.

They project being back up at 1:00PM EDT. Usually they're quicker than that.

You might need to enable it in Windows control panel "turn windows featuers on/off" https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/dotnet-35-windows-10

No, the error seem to be for Akamai, but files started to download, a lot of dll and data files. No it encountered another error while applying some patch number, after the countdown it started to download/install more files (like 25475 more)... still in the process... currently around 600 done. Damn, this is big...

Netsession is just a download multitasker. Will potentially download from multiple sites simultaneously. But isn't required. You can uninstall it later, if you wish.

Yes, it will take longer now that every player is downloading the patches at the same time.

- Make sure your Firewall and active defending anti-malware programs have DDO exe files in exceptions.

- Make sure your are loading the game and running game under account with admin rights.

- If your game client not running on Windows 10, try: Loading C++ 2005 and .Net Framework 1.1 from Microsoft website. They're no longer auto-installed by Windows Update on the latest Windows versions. Look in the DDO directory for the 3rdParty folder and run all the .exes you find there while the game is Not running and under Admin rights account.

- Many problems with the game stem from poor or faulty Network connection between your computer and the game servers near Boston, MA, USA. Read the sticky thread on the official forum, "Troubleshooting Connection Issues", "Understanding Lag" and "Game Connection Speed"
