Augments not working?

I'm fairly new to the game (level 4, rank 18) and I just got some feather falling augments from the DDO store to add to my cape. The cape very clearly has an open augment slot, but when I go to the augmentation screen, the game claims that my cape doesn't have open slots. None of my other items have open slots either. Help?

Does the cape have a yellow/green/orange augment slot on it? If the augment slot is blue/red/purple you won't be able to socket the feather fall augment.

it says "empty yellow augment slot".

make sure the item is not locked/equipped. double click augment drag item to box. click on augment slot. voila it should fix it.

I’m thinking you’re trying to use the sentient item screen which is for different augments. For a colored augment like you have, all you need to do is double click the featherfall augment when it’s in your inventory.

That will open a window. You can then drag the cape or other item with a slot into the window and select which slot to apply the augment to. As long as it’s a color that works with the item’s slot it should work.
