Steam Guidelines Require the company & game must be playable...(sitting in town is not playing) for any Positive Trolls that may say they have no lag...We will be leaving goodluck with the lag fest..

- Many problems with the game stem from poor or faulty Network connection between your computer and the game servers near Boston, MA, USA. Read the sticky thread on the official forum, "Troubleshooting Connection Issues", "Understanding Lag" and "Game Connection Speed"

- While in game you can view connection status using a UI object. Go into Options > UI Setting > Show the Network Status Display (checked).

I have seen some lag every once in awhile but i understand that you have to accept some lag and make sure you don't have lag on your side. The DDO and LOTRO servers are more busy now with the free content release, and the Internet causes some lag. Not sure where the OP is in the world. (Update: the OP said they are in Liverpool, UK, so Internet distance / bandwidth is a Factor in their problem.)

My girl friend & me - in europe - have no lags. We play the game since 2012. We are in a city with good internet connections. We play it without steam.

Before 10 years we played it with older PC`s ... we got lags.

As i've said on other thread.

game has some issues last few das where entire server got frozen in place for at least 5 minutes.

Official forum has multiple threads of people complaining.

yep its not normal lag atm.

Keep in mind that a huge fraction of the world's population who would normally be at work is currently not. Slowdowns in internet speeds are measurable. Mostly they're measuring throughput, but I'd assume latency and lag might also be symptoms.

Personally, I've definitely been experiencing more ephemeral lag issues than usual, as well as having 'stuck' in a load screen once and having some nasty rubber-banding a time or two. And once I was essentially 'frozen' for a minute or more.

You've ignored that I already started a thread on this linking where SSG has acknowledged the problem and is working on a fix: https://steamcommunity.com/app/206480/discussions/0/2150972812840702399/

As for the lag...
I've seen far worse lol. But yeah DDO has been unplayable at certain times recently. It doesn't need to be the worst, it's bad enough. But they can't just wave a finger and say lag begone. Nothing involving Steam applies to it at all either.

If you're a VIP subscriber in DDO, then you can ask on the forums if they will consider extending the time due to it being unplayable. Rather than make a new thread, I suggest using this thread because SSG has already responded there: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/513493-Lag-issues

It's not something they're obligated to do, but they might.

Frankly, I'd just be happy to have the game play on my only computer XD. Still don't know whether I can play or not. Even if the lag is a bit bad, I'm cool with being able to chat too lol. As long as I'm not being eaten by bosses, it's all cool. I've >.> played Dark Souls before, at a friend's place, you actually die a lot more on that game than DDO. But yeah... A lot of this has to do with the pandemic and a lot of school kids are on our network now with distance learning. Everyone needs to be a little more patient for a bit.
Seeing myself and friend (from liverpool) and me as US, Play duo everyday and we both have the exact same lag and rubber banding at the same time. It is 0% it is on our side..Lotta upcoming mmorpg's coming out this year.. It would be a shame if DDo cannot live up too the challenges ahead..
Could this also be because of current events that the servers are poorly maintained?

Looks like you're asking if it could be due to changes in work routines or number of employees going into work for SSG? I'd have to say no on that one. I've not seen any indication of a decrease for the worse with how servers are being maintained for any reason, let alone recent events. They have a downtime(server maintenance) scheduled for this Tuesday

I would have thought the worldwide killer was the culprit ...But as seeing all major game companies, steam or epic etc etc Having no new serious lag issues..The day has actually came where Gaming Companies can no longer blame the public/customers for lag issues..They all have more time on thier hands then ever happened in history , PC''s or not..time is time..

Faulty Network connection is DDo answers from game wide lag worldwide..Baby jesus help us..

I am all for lag issues from the Killer virus..But it has actually started a month or so before the US was hit..

"There are eight DDO game servers, named after geographic aspects or organizations of Eberron.[citation needed] After acquiring the game in December 2016,[12] Standing Stone Games deploys the game and maintains daily operations of all servers.[13] The servers used to be geographically distributed, with 14 in North America, 5 in Europe, with others in China and Japan. There were no servers for the Southern Hemisphere market. The game distributed in Australia by Atari was the US version. The servers in North America were operated by Turbine, while those in Europe were maintained by Codemasters and Alchemic Dream. In China, the game was operated by Shanda, and in Japan by Sakura Internet. When the European servers went offline in 2010, players were able to transfer their characters to the American servers"

So as the Wiki has stated servers are US..Please just repair the few servers the company has left and the Subscribers of Ddo ..I am not sure any company on the planet can now afford to attempt to blame customers for server and employee technical issues.... Positive know trolls on steam discussion forums are all well know..It only takes a look at Profiles to see games and hrs played.

Any profiles that are "private" dropping post in most steam games re called "Positive Trolls"

Either way i could care less..Just making it known that alot of members of steam post all positive reviews, owning the game or one they never played..

All DDO players know it is a Game issue, and not some virus that "taking up bandwith" When i see billionaire gaming companies start blaming Fortnite lag on a virus or customers i will edit the post...

It's too bad that you didn't check out my thread on the lag, where I posted the above link 4 hours before you said this. You know the thread that I pointed out you ignored yesterday. Then you wouldn't look positively like a moron right now. Also, it's just a fact of life that it's possible for lag issues to be on your end. Any idiot can figure that out. Apparently not you though. If you'd like to stop looking dumb though and actually go find some proof where a game company is simply blaming players rather than actually trying to figure out the cause of lag, post it here and I'll happily agree with you if it shows what your claiming. Right now all you're proving is that you're choosing to remain willfully ignorant in order to troll.

It's clearly safe to conclude you're lying about all of this after your most recent post. You haven't left yet, and you didn't wait to give the company a chance to improve the performance for you.
Hope everyone here clicks your name and reports your profile to Steam for trolling.

No game is perfect. The irony about your intentions and actions is that the experienced players here who aren't making up nonsense the way you are, know better than you do what is wrong with the game. But they're going to talk about those things less because they're spending time responding to your fake posts. You're just wasting your time to make the game look better. So I guess SSG should thank you.
