F2P tank build
as a newcomer im looking for F2P tank build and some advices for tanking in DDO
i prefer build for dungeons and leveling thru them.. i probably dont care about endgame raid (if there is any). i just wish have some fun with running instances.
preferences: mitigation tank, aoe tanking
i dont wish avoidance tank, or some caster tank, (like is avoidance rogue tank and tank mage in Rift)

if u know some links for theorycraft (for noob or/and deep theorycraft) i will appreciate that.

I have yet to build a real tank, so I'm no expert. The things to look into (ddowiki.com is a decent place) are AC, PRR/MRR (Physical Resistance & Magical Resistance), Dodge, saving throws, and, of course, aggro (hate and intimidation and DPS).

Probably more stuff, but those are probably the primary concepts for a tank to master.

Try also searching for 'tank' on the official forums. And try not to be discouraged at the multi-life, endgame gear, needs tomes builds. Those are designed for raids. But they'll still help teach the concepts.

while things might seem outdated if it hasn't been changed then its still not outdated. only differences might be gear today compared to before. builds only change really if there was a change to a system like class/tree/ or defenses.

With the tanking changes in U45 it made sense to re evaluate the build and post it here.

DDO updates change basic mechanics frequently enough that there's no decent source for current builds. They all 'expire' sooner or later. The best you can reasonably do is either post on a 'request a build' forum and explain your criteria and limitations (past lives, tomes, etc), or use posted builds as a way to learn how to build something similar.

An alternative would just be to not stress about your build and just pick what you think looks like it will work and go from there.

The way this game works is that to get characters with 100% efficacy you have to have levelled to 30 and then respecced/reincarnated down to 1 3 times for each class and race (to get past life feats for classes and increase your initial pointbuy stat pool for races).

As such because you'll have to respec later anyway, combined with the fact you can't really follow builds without having access to all of the stats and past lives, you may as well spend the first few lives experimenting.
