- If you cannot see your characters in character select, try: Reseting graphics back to Default from the Options > Repair on DDO launcher. Then Set graphics to DX9. Use the Detect Optimal Graphics button. There is a bug with Intel graphics and DX10 doing that.
- Make sure your Firewall and active defending anti-malware programs have DDO directory in exceptions.
- Make sure your are first loading the game and running game under account with admin rights.
- Many problems with the game stem from poor or faulty Network connection between your computer and the game servers. Read the sticky thread on the official forum, "Troubleshooting Connection Issues", "Understanding Lag" and "Game Connection Speed"
