Cannith does have the largest pop of all the servers probably because it's been the default server for a few years now. At the other end is Wayfinder which has the lowest numbers of them all. All the rest are pretty much the same in the middle.
If you really want to check, make a character on each server and log in during your normal play time and use the socal panel to check the pop. This also pays off in letting you look at the different classes and if you run each of those characters up to 100 favor you get some nice free store points.
Have to concur with this. Start out on the default server. The beginner areas on the other ones will have few if any people with whom to play.
After you're comfortable with the game (maybe L7-10), make a toon on each other server and play a bit. That will both give you a feel for the population during your regular playtimes and also earn you some extra DDO points from the bonus granted for the first toon on each server to hit certain Favor milestones. Earn at least 100 Favor on each server. That's the sweet spot in DDO point earnings as well as plenty of time to assess populations.
