Does veteran status invalidate first time ddo point gains?
So I just bought menace of the underdark (through steam) and that seems to have unlocked veteran status for me across all servers. Cool. I decided to make use of this opportunity and do some quick favor grinding to get the cheap server-first for 5 favor since I only had characters in 3 servers. Unfortunately, after doing Bringing the Light 3x (up to heroic dificulty), reaching six favor, I didnt see any new points and didnt get any mail in my inbox.

So, did buying menace of the underdark cancel this? Or is that veteran characters cant earn server-first bonuses?

you need to hit 100 favor marks to get any points. doing bringing the light 3x wont do anything unless you did it on elite. elite is max favor on any quest and doing it multiple times just gives you only xp. favor is a one time thing per quest unless you are raising it from normal hard to elite.

From the wiki:

"You earn free DP by winning favor. You earn favor by completing quests. Each character receives 25 DP for every 100 favor they earn. In addition you receive more DP the first time any single character on a server achieves a certain level of favor. The fastest way to get a few hundred DP is to get a character on each server (currently there are eight servers) to run The Grotto and the first three quests. Each of those quests is worth 2 favor, and when your character has 5 favor you are given 50 DP."

What I was going for was the 50 DP bonus you are supposed to get when you get 5 favor for the first time on a server, as I had never had characters on most of the servers.

There are many well defined guides on Favor Farming available. It is a quest unto its self.

Well I figured out the problem by looking at my account history in the DDO store, I was being credited just the mail wasnt arriving in the mailbox. Wasn't a question of guides, just a lag in communication.

I was going to mention that sometimes there's a lag. For example, often your total favor will be one quest behind until you log off and back on.

There's nothing wrong with farming favor (even the first-time-per-server) bonuses on a vet status or even Iconic toon, nor does Premium or VIP status affect it.
