Season pass?! ... Very misleading!
I got the season pass with the game thinking all the dlc will be included but I just happened to look at the DLC before I started playing today and didnt see the presidential pack or that grassroots pack. I looked into it more and read the "fine print" that it only includes 2 addon missions and the rectifier. I thought the season pass meant that all DLC is included. Find that a bit misleading...

People need to learn how to read.

Both of these posts basically end this thread. Could a moderator lock this, already?

No need of backseat moderating.

He have the right to tell his opinion about the game...

I'm ASKING a moderator to lock this, not backseat-moderating. I'm asking, because this thread has devolved into people saying NO YOU'RE WRONG, NO YOU'RE WRONG, etc.

a season pass is used in entertainment (sports venues, amuzement parks, etc) to mean pre-payment of all entertainment for the season (set time frame). there weren't season passes, at least that I knew of, that only gave access to a small handful of days in the season.

You should pay attention to your own analogy. A season pass as you list above, may give you access to every game of the season. But it doesnt include every T-shirt and novelty item they sell at the stadium. You want those, you pay extra.

Likewise here, a Season Pass gives you access to every 'game' content, but not the fluff stuff.

you won't hear me arguing that as I'm on the "read what you are buying before you by it" side of the argument.

but there is nothing "season" about DLC release schedules so its pure marketing to use the label "season pass" and play on people's assumptions of what they think a season pass means to them (buy this to get all DLC at a discount) and score on people's impulse buying.

the legal game of "well, we made it very clear what was being sold" is just politics and those marketing bastards know damn well what they are doing and why the are using the name "Season Pass".

so argue what you will about sucker buyers...but the truth is that this tactic is targeting suckers.

This is a case where the suckers should be educated, then. The way to educate them is NOT to start throwing out sensationalist thread titles and feigning, or worse, actually feeling, outrage, over a game, of all things.

i think most of what you just said is not directed at me and I'll assume its coincidence that I was quoted in it.

otherwise: huh?

This "every DLC ever released" pack gives access to 2 mission packs and a weapon!

It never said "every DLC ever released" anywhere.

The analogy you used with using passes to sports events and other things like that is just as stupid as people comparing games to cars. I know what a season pass is in the 'REAL WORLD'. I also know you can have 'Fest Passes' for some music festivals where the pass will allow you to go to a number of shows, but not necessarily all of them. And I know that a season pass, when it comes to games, doesn't always mean you'll get all the DLC EVER during said season, only what the damn text specifies. So you just need to read the text. There's no misleading anyone who has the level of literacy of a 6 year old here.

calling them "season pass" isn't to target you for impulse buys on assumptions then. what do you want me to tell you? It's not a one size fits all. you don't see a shoe commercial and have to go buy those shoes right away, but others do. marketing has a target audience. you are not it in this case.

not sure what you are arguing. and my "every DLC ever released" was a hypothetical scenario of what companies could get away with as long as they had the legal description of what is actually being offered.

shoppers who research their products before buying like you and I will not buy the product based on its name alone. but others will see season pass and associate that to what they think it...you know what; now I'm repeating myself. If you don't get what I'm saying...you don't get it.

Why do people think that season pass means every dlc? I don't think there is any game that calls any season pass, buy now and get as all dlc that will ever be release ever.
All of the Call of Duty games give you every map to be released

I was gonna buy the Season Pass thinking all the dlc for, in the pass I've bought Seasons Passes which included every dlc that did/will come out expect they are normally just a discounted price of all the dlc, like 25% off.
Ouasu 2014 年 1 月 20 日 上午 3:56
For me personally I'd expect a season pass to include a clearly specified number of "Story" DLCs and maybe a little toy like the gun you get here. Basically buying "an extra season" for a tv show or something.

By "fine print" you mean that huge and only picture that is in the store page?

Because that picture clearly shows you'll only get "enter the dominatrix" + "another DLC from the future" + the weapon

They also repeat it in the text description.
Speaking of Which- What IS that other pack they are offering? is it actually Announced yet?
Krakn3dfx 2014 年 1 月 20 日 上午 6:24
I don't expect all the DLC in the Season Pass, but the Saint's Row 3 was pretty underwhelming for the price, so I held off on the SR4 one until this weekend when it was $5.

Outfit/gun DLC doesn't interest me, but I bet they pull in a good bit of cash from people who want to dress like anime characters and stuff like that.

I have to agree with Dynamite. I don't buy a ton of DLC, but this is the first Season Pass I've run into that doesn't include all DLC. Hyrule Warriors ran two season passes, but then again the second one came with the Heroes update so I give it a free pass (plus it was a year or two after release). Fire Emblem, anything Ubisoft, etc...

It's just misleading. It makes what should be a simple decision "Ooh! DLC. Let's just drop it all in the cart at a bulk price" into "Oh ♥♥♥♥, which packs do I need? This one and this one, maybe this one..."

It's an old game. It's good, but you can get it on sale for five bucks at least once every few months. Why should DLC be such a hassle for people to get?:repenny:
