Are Wardens really necessary?
So i've been playing SR4 for quite a long time now, 40 hours on one file in fact, and honestly the warden mechanic just really ruins any kind of fun you can have with endgame combat, the QTE is really diffficult, the noteriety wipe is annoying when you're trying to just have fun and kill stuff, and you have to leave the mech suit to use the QTE so there's no point in upgrading the duration. so with the recent patch, maybe they should add the option of Wardens? just saying, random carnage would be fun, since that's what the game is kind of based around.

well there is a cheat that diables wardens and it lets you keep your niorety (spelled wrong) me and my friend use t a lot, yet i dont know the code

I agree with you, the Wardens just break my fun. I like destroying and killing everything around me. :D

Yeah. It'll be nice if you had a series of options in the Ship's console other than time of the day, like enabling the other gangs and they take over your territories like in SR2, and disabling wardens, or choosing the "law enforcement" that will appear between police & military, Stag and aliens.

Well at least there will most likely be mods down along the road which will allow you to change all of this stuff

Maybe I should start playing on hard, on normal they're dead in 5-10 seconds. Strange that there's such a difficulty gap between those.

hmm for me the wardens seems to have dissapeared yesterday after i fully upgraded the powers and/or had sim 100% hacked.
was on a rampage with 3 superhomies notority stayed 1/2 tile before max .

This would be nice.

I wish the modding community would make options like:

1) Toggle if Warden spawning wipe the other aliens out or not
2) Toggle if more than one warden can spawn if you keep notoriety for too long.
(Imagine epic battles with 3 Wardens + UFOs + Tanks + whatever, all agaist you)
3) Toggle if warden death wipes notoriety or not

These 3 settings would make my game a lot more fun.

My only gripe is the QTE to get rid of a warden. I wish there was an alternative where they just had a ton of health and you could defeat them the old fashion way(I've spent the full duration of a mech suit hammering away at one, just to see if it was possible - it's not).

Having to destroy my keyboard after every 5~ shots of the inflato-ray is not my idea of fun.

If it weren't for the wardens, combat would probably be a complete joke once you have decently upgraded abilities.

I wouldn't have minded the combat being somewhat harder and the action sequences (MoM notably) being somewhat more forgiving. The "drive the bike to rescue Matt" segment was ugly w/o a controller.

I agree with the whole more control of the simulation thing rather then just time of day, kind of a let down if you ask me if the saints own the zin empire now and that can't even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ control their own simulation,.

i wouldn't mind the wardens as much if they were MUCH harder to draw out. and it's dissapointing that you can go from blowing up civillians to killing a warden in only a minute putting a huge stop to any fun you could have had.

What I'd love to see is a massive increase is how long it takes to go from 0 to max. bring back cops and military to mix things up.

cops>swat>military>stag>aliens>warden should have been the order, each having it's own notority max and transition phase and make me WORK for it. If i can't handle it i can always chase down the golden cid.

as for the warden itself, i'd get rid of the shield, give him a massive health boost and fire whoever decided it needed a quicktime event.

^that but it bothers me the only way to stop wardens is usinmg cheat codes that add a cheat flag to our saves/autosaves and such sigh

I'd like that too, the option to play against gangs again in Steelport, or even fight Supergangs.

The problem is that, now that I've finished the game, I'm going back to do the challenges, but it's so hard to do some of the weapon challenges because every 2 minutes, the Warden shows up. Also, it seems that the challenges ONLY apply to Zin, and don't apply to all the murderbots and those big rolling things, which seem to be about half of the things I kill.

Took me forever to finish the dubstep challenge.

Or, as somebody else said, maybe at the end of the game, maybe instead of having a QTE, maybe have the wardens act like regular bad guys, just with more health, so that you can fight Mr. Big Bad Superpowered monster without breaking the flow of the game.

As others have said, the wardens kinda ruin rampaging.
