Though to be fair I've always viewed Saints Row as a Comic Book Villain Simulator... so this just feels like the natural order of things. I've never put more time into a Saints Row Title in so short of time.
Seriously super powers should of existed on specific game modes/missions not ruling most aspects of the entire game. It would of been better prefered if you had to do something specific to activate your super powers outside of key missions which require their use. In turn this would make the availability of super powers less common when just goofing around and when you do have them activated far more valuable being you can't use them all the time. That is how it should of been done.
Say ie you kill so many Zin, and suck out their souls or something funky like that, fill up a bar of a sort then press a button to activate super powers, then you can use them until a power gadge finally runs out, then you'd get to start the proccess over again. That is how it should of been done! lol
This would of made it so they wouldn't of had to make the entire game revolve around the super powers. As it is no even Genki activities require Super Powers... there is almost nothing in the game that you can do that super powers are not present, or have to be present eventually including rampaging in an attack helicopter or vehicle.
You can not even sprint without using super sprint....
I personally feel that the super powers are great, especially since only Wardens specifically require you to use them to defeat them. The Wardens shields can be brought down using the Mech Suit, but that isn't till the end of the game.
But again, as I've said, I always imagine myself as playing a super villain while playing Saints Row.... so I personally feel that there aren't enough super powers lol. I can see how someone might feel that they are excessive if they're trying to take the gameplay even the slightest bit seriously though. Maybe the next Saints Row should incorporate a "High Fantasy/Low Fantasy" option to either maximize or minimize the effect of powers on gameplay.
Even before Ironing out the bugs it's the most fun I've had with a Saints Row title, 2 included. I guess you can only benefit from waiting though, as it can only get better.
