Realtek ALC892, Driver Version 6.0.1.6870
Set up as 5.1, with speakers properly connected.)
(Had a similar problem release day when I was playing it. I could barely here Zinyak in the first scenes; but at the time I had figured it was because I had left it set up as 5.1 when I was only using headphones at the time.)
Thanks Knobby we really apreciate it. My specs can be found in an earlier post. I have noticed that the issue only occurs when using my speakers. if i plug in a USB headset it sounds run. In case it helps the headset is a logitech Headset/Mic combo and the speakers are Bose Compainon 2
- opening VLC Media Player, Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, Youtube Video and running a music track or music video and then pausing it or letting it run
- watching the opening videos completely
- Alt-Tabbing in and out
- reinstalling for the fourth time now, no change
Still I hear not:
- no radio sound, no matter which radio station chosen
- no Comments from the main character
- no vehicle horn
- no weapon sound
- no pedestrian talks
- no ambient sounds
- no taunts/compliments
Sounds I can hear are:
- bullets dropping out of the guns when fired
- bullets hitting nearby materials
- steps
- cutscene audio including voices
- vehicle engine sounds, although sometimes lagging
Game patched to latest patch (4), i7980x, 480mGTX, Realtek onboard soundcard, 6GB RAM, plenty of space on HDD.
This problem already persisted in SR:TT and SR:IV is already out for weeks, wtf is the agenda with your tech dep?!
As I run around the city hitting upgrade nodes I have super quiet, no bass dubstep playing, punctuated with "WOOOOO" and "YEEAAAAAH" at top volume. This was initially pretty funny. Now it's getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ irritating.
1. We've reproduced it in house and are actively working on a fix.
2. This bug is kinda silly and the cause of it confuses a lot of really smart people.
3. It can be worked around by setting your PC to play in stereo only.
4. If you're using a receiver, you can manually change the receiver settings to Dolby Digital and the audio will work properly.
5. "Realtek" is basically a swear word around here lately.
I have confidence that this will be patched when a fix is completed, tested, and distributed.
idk where ppl get all these weird isseus from but i almost played this game flawlessly beside the very 1st weird glitches and stuff
Basically if you could list all the technology and cables between your sound card and your ears, that'd help add more data to the bug report and there might be something in there we're not seeing locally.
Thanks!
