It's not a Steam rule. It's a publishing/retail rule.

And not so much a rule, but a standard most publishers go by.

I usually understand why releases are delayed until Friday in the UK, to allow both retail and digital to be on equal footing, despite disliking the practice.

However, in this case it cannot be defended in any way due to Deep Silver not releasing a physical boxed copy of the game on PC for the UK.
They have simply decided to delay the game because... Oceans?

Its an outdated stupid retail rule that needs to be trashed, and only serves to keep rediculous retail stores in buisness when they could get off their backsides and become competitive in other ways.

The retail day rule is like adhereing to some old world rules that lets a donkey decide who you get to marry, its completely out of touch with this modern age.

its been ready to release since they started printing the game disc for box version, but the retailers woud loose so many customers to digital release if they did not wait.

Problem is even with that happing, alot of ppl will still buy at retailers, but without this deal, retailers woud not sell the game or do any ads in store and they homepages. So publishers woud loose alot of money if they did not make retailers like steam wait until box version is out.

If you're in the UK, you get it on the 22nd at 11pm. Central European Time is an hour ahead of GMT.
