Left Stick Inverted using - Dualshock 4 and DS4Tools
I did see other threads and took the advice to invert the left stick using DS4Tools and if I load up say Skyrim - yup Forward is Backward etc but then load up Saints Row 4 - its still exactly the same as it was. So Saints Row IV (I haven't loaded up 2 or 3 yet to check if they are broken the same way) just ignores the DS4 profile? I am new to PC Gaming and don't really want to mess around seeing as DS4Tools actually does do what I wanted it to but the game itself doesn't care? Is this just a lump it or leave it or is there a nice easy solution? Thanks in advance if you help or just thanks anyway :D

I'm having the same issue, almoast went out and bought a xbox controller out of frustration. I started just using mouse and keyboard and it's not nearly as akward as some open world games can be. It's passable without the DS4 working. But still annoying. If you figure something out, post if possible. I'd appreciate it.

I can't figure out how to fix it alas so its mouse and keyboard only which is fine sitting up at my PC but I wanted to kick back and relax all console style and play some Saints Row 4 on my big ass TV but nope. I tried everything I could think of (which is not much I grant you) but I just gave up in the end which is a shame as its making me not want to play the game I bought lol Silly perceptions of blame and anger. Its something I have never ever came across before - utterly bizarre. If you do buy a 360 controller and that works please let me know.

Somewhat unbelievably I think I figured (through blind luck) out what is wrong. After sleeping on it and then realising there was one thing I did not try was plugging the USB into the back of the PC - so its 2.0 - and not the 3.0 slots at the front - Ta Da. Booted up SRIV and its working. I cannot say for certain this is the fix?? I think I installed the 360 controller driver last night?? but I certainly didn't mean to and then I shut it down for the night and now rebooted it etc - PC's are generally a mystery to me. So if you have the Dualshock 4 plugged in to a 3.0 usb slot - give a 2.0 slot a try.

I know this is old but I was able to fix it.

For me the problem was some Nvidia tasks preventing my DS4Windows program from connecting my controller.

The steps I took are:

Open the Task Manager:

1) Go to "Services" tab

2) STOP the following services:
NvContainerLocalSystem
NvContainerNetworkService
NVDisplay.ContainerLocalService
NvTelemetryContainer

3) Turn off then back on the DS4 program

I also set the SaintsRow executable file to run as an Admin and in Windows XP service pack 3 compatibility mode.

Now it runs fine without having to remap any buttons. You might have to repeat these steps every time you run Stream or Nvidia as those 4 services will start again, locking in the controls.

Hello.
An easy fix is to plug in your PS controller, download "x360ce" (https://www.x360ce.com/), the .exe open as administrator in game folder, it will scan for used key mapping online, after that the game will think that you are using Xbox controller. And it should work by now. This program can be used in any game where PS controller isn't supported.

Its work for me to use PS4 controller, use the 32bit zip, copi the 2 files into the directory SR4 and execute, the program detected the game and download the files necesaries to run ok.

The exact same thing happened to me with SR The Third Remastered. It worked fine with USB 3 for the first few days, then I was saved by this comment. I kinda HATE PC gaming but I like my RX 5700 and being able to get the same games for half/ 1 3rd the price of console's. Thanks by the way!!
