Need this song!
This song is not on the radio stations. It is not on the soundtrack album.

During the quest called KEYMASTER, part "Finish The Key".

You run around town with Fun Shaundi and CID, looking for batteries for the Key. On the third part, the battery blows up, and you have to find a fourth location. Shaundi says, "Don't be such a sourpuss."

And the music starts. It's a simple chord progression on piano, with some drums kicking in, and a bit of high-note keyboards. It's kinda inspirational, cheesy, and what you might find in the background of an '80s movie during a training montage. But I LOVE it, and wish I could find a recording of it.

Can anyone help? I'd post a video of it, but I'm not sure how.

Thanks.

Nah, The Touch is in a later mission.

I know what you're talking about and you're right. Total montage track. I'll look up the name of the song when I get into the office tomorrow.

Right - it's not "The Touch". What I'm looking for is a 1-1.5 minute loop of instrumental music. Good guess from my description, though, pmaj22. :)

Ellix - Thanks! :)

I realize it might not be easy to find. It might not even have a name, as it's background for only one quest. I have SRIV on DVD-ROM, so if it's not available anywhere else, maybe you could even direct me to how to get it off the sourcefiles, that'd work, too.

Speaking of songs, do you guys know what song is used in Charlie's Playhouse alley? You know, the alley in the center of the map, right under the bridge, that also has a gateway. Apparently there are two songs, one that goes faster, more chaotic and another one that is composed of a steady electronic vibe. It's really badass. What song it is? Was it used in Saints Row 1 or 2 so I could have a chance of finding it in the official OST? Any reply is appreciated :demoticon:

ctrlr - Nope, that song doesn't have an instrumental part that's about a minute long that's mostly piano. As far as I can tell, the song I'm looking for is a looping 1 - 1.5 minute instrumental.

Oh, and to clarify -- I don't mean synthesizers, when I say "piano". I realize it may be a synthesizer on the piano setting, but it certainly sounds like a piano.

I'm really hoping Ellix will return with an answer...

Sorry Dark RaVen - no idea what that one is in the alley.

Alright Rhadamanthus, this is a pretty deep cut so bear with me since I don't see it on YouTube anywhere. Pretty sure that's the one you're looking for. Sorry I can't give you a direct download link, I don't want to get into the legality of it.

1. Go to http://www.apmmusic.com/new-releases/k/kpm-music/chart-feelgood-and-disco
2. Click on "Hear All Tracks From This Album"
3. Click on the little magnifying glass icon in the center pane.
4. Click the little play icon next to "Sugar Sweat" (track #2)

DarkRaVen, I'll look into your song tonight. I don't remember it off the top of my head.

Thanks, Ellix - I take it I have to register for this service to get the song? The link takes me to the page, the "Hear All Tracks From This Album" then takes me to what looks like a media player, but I get no magnifying glass. There's a big black square (where video or an album cover would probably appear) that has information on signing up.

Ah, mine didn't do that the first time but now it is.

You'll probably need to arrange something with APM to download it, but you can listen to it all you want through this clunky player.

Search in the top left of the player for "KPM 0851" and click "Track Description: 54" in the center pane. It should be the track #2 from that list.

Sorry!

The player doesn't have a "KPM 0851" or APM, or whatever, for me. :/

EDIT - Suddenly, it DOES! And, that's the song! Instant goosebumps - Feel like flying around Steelport! Thanks - you're my new hero. :)

Yeah, it's weird. Works sometimes, sometimes doesn't. The first method might work now!

Enjoy :)

Well, the page reset to the unusable interface.

And APM music is for production companies and contracted use; they won't sell a track or an album for personal use. So, I can listen to the track in-game, or on their site (if it suddenly switches back on), but otherwise, I can't get the song.

<sigh>

Any luck finding that song?

This one?

1. Go to http://www.apmmusic.com/myapm/main.php
2. Search for KPM 0773 08301
3. Click "Track Description: 1"
4. Click the little Play icon under "All My Ladies b 60"

Don't ask me what the title means...
