Missing Executable

I've tried everything to play this game with my mate but nothing...
Upon fresh install it kept telling me I'm missing the SaintsRowIV.exe executable. I've completely reinstalled windows, reinstalled the game and verified game files at least 30 times, switched to legacy which told us we weren't on the same version. I've changed sr_hv to SaintsRowIV.exe and it gives the same not on same version error. I've then, I cant believe I'm saying this... BOUGHT the game again on epic games and it gives the same wrong version error when trying to invite my friend on steam. I gifted Steam SRIV Re-elected to my mate (I had the original version which got upgraded. We both installed the game within the same hour...

105 hours in this game and I've never had this issue until this stupid EG merger.

Please help, I'm all out of options...

Use the legacy version. Since you upgraded from the original game you can use all the stuff you got then. Go to properties, select beta and there you can select srIV_legacy)

rename the executable sr.hv thats in your games files to SaintsRowIV
