Well known car sound bug - possible fix for Nvidia users
Hi!

As many before me, I've encountered this problem - no (or very delayed) engine / brakes / horn sounds while driving vehicles.

None of the workarounds suggested by other players worked in my case. But quite accidentally I've stumbled upon a working solution:

1. Go to your Nvidia Control Panel / Manage 3D settings.
2. Click 'Program settings' tab and select Saints Row: The Third / Saints Row IV / Gat out of Hell.
3. Set Vertical sync to 'on'.
4. Set Triple buffering to 'on'.
5. Set Low latency mode to 'ultra'.
6. Click 'apply' and exit.

Done! See if your problem is fixed. It worked for me, anyway. :)
But if that doesn't work, You can try this as a last resort:

1. Go to your Nvidia Control Panel / Manage 3D settings.
2. Click 'Program settings' tab and select Saints Row: The Third / Saints Row IV / Gat out of Hell.
3. Revert above application settings to their default values.
4. Set Vertical sync to 'fast'.
5. Click 'apply' and exit.

Unfortunately I never had ATI gfx card, so I don't know what Vsync options are available for Radeon users, and if wiggling around them can fix this bug for you or not.

Remember. Available settings may vary depending on your GPU model.

Best regards and good luck!

Found your solution after three hours of searching and trying out and for me it was the only one that worked so far.

Thank you very much for posting! :steamhappy:

(Used it with the GOG Version of Saints Row: The Third)

I tried literally every other fix recommended elsewhere and this is the one that finally fixed it for me. Thanks for the fix.

Mine only shows these options:

Use Global Setting (Use the 3D application setting)
Use the 3D application setting
Off
On

What do I do?

I belive it depends on specific graphics card model.

Try combination of vsync: on, tripple buffering: on, and low latency mode: ultra.

I've tried applying them but an error showed up saying
"Access denied

Failed to apply selected settings to your system."

Interesting... What graphics card model you have?
Try to apply these settings via program called Nvidia Profile Inspector.

I have a Nvidia Geforce GT 730M.
And I'll try that.

Forget it. Nvidia discontinued support for GT 730M on April 2019. It means no new drivers for this card since then. Low Latecy Mode has been intoduced on August 2019. Sorry.

As a last resort, you may try to uninstall your driver and downgrade to version 391.35. I remember, that GTX 470 on my old PC ran this game without issues on this driver.

Ah damn. So there were no longer any new updates for GT 730M after April 2019? That sucks. I might as well try to downgrade to the version you said.

Let me know if that worked. It could be useful for other people with older GPU's. :)

Will do. Also, how did you find the version 391.35 of the GT 730M? Just asking cuz I dont' speak Polski but I only speak English. In the Language part, It says Polski so I just wanna change that to English. Also just to make sure it's the right driver too.
