Achievements dont unlock anymore
I just noticed that the achievements don't unlock anymore. I didn't used cheats or changed the game in any way and it worked in the past. Is there a solution?

When I've noticed this before, I've found that sometimes quitting and relaunching "fixes" this. In Saints 3, I recently experienced a problem with Nut-Shots not registering with the AI which was alleviated by a restart, and similar things in this game. SR 3, 4, and Gat are all really buggy as Hell with maddening temporary glitches.

…Hmmm. Not quite sure what that's supposed to mean, and I don't know about "most" players, but I generally play without cheats and unmodded, so…? Just because one player or two doesn't experience these issues doesn't mean that the rest of the players that do are full of it.

Thanks for the reply. I will just try to reinstall the game and otherwise keep playing without the achievements. Not that important anyway.

"Learn to browse the forum?" A) That was uncalled-for, and B) not very clever, mostly because your exact meaning completely escapes me, thereby leaching the "burn" out of the remark.

In the event that you misconstrued the comment that prompted your reply, it wasn't aimed at you in any negative sense, but was more of an inferred observation; I've noted a significant proportion of respondents who write skeptically because they're unable to see the others' viewpoints, and/or they haven't experienced whatever's being discussed.

As for the uninstallation…well, it's rather a bridge too far. The achievements in this game—in all the Saints games I've played (SR2-Gat)—are really buggy as Hell. For an example, note my soon-to-be-posted Saints Row: The Third "AI is feckin' BLIND!"

Papa Doc's first reply is often the case with Steam games. For some reason Steam doesn't always recoginise these things straight away and it takes time. Same with when you unlock and achievement and it's meant to unlock something in the game or be recognised in the game's internal system but it lags behind instead. Almost always fixed when you next load up the game or some period of time passes and Steam and the game fix themselves by whatever magic is involved.

Did you activate any cheats for the game. Because if you do that turns off achivments for the rest untill you make a new file.

Achievements start out registering okay, but can suddenly "become invisible" to the AI, and this assumes cheats are not involved.

I learned my lesson about cheats back in 2005 with GTA: San Andreas. The golden rule: Don't make any saves when cheats are turned on. Not only will it turn off achievements, but it can even corrupt all your saves beyond recovery—yeah, I know: It doesn't make sense, but it can happen. I made all pedestrians weapon-weilding Elvises and saved, and then I couldn't load that save…and became horrified when my OTHER (non-cheat) saves wouldn't load, either. Had to start all over with that stupid bicycle again.
