60fps looks stuttery to me so yeah i need it THE SMOOTHNESS I NEED IT

I tried forcing vsync off in the GPU driver and that doesn't work and I failed to find a config file so far so it could be a hard lock. Anyway in the meantime switch your monitor to 120 Hz mode so that the frames are distributed evenly, should help with the stutter.

It's a very smooth 60 fps apart from the occasional dropped frame so it shouldn't stutter if your monitor is set up properly.

I have gsync it is fine I just like to have the smooth feeling of moving the mouse and everything. I can live with it as it's just a pnc but it would be a nice thing to have.

Yeah I replayed the whole series at 144 Hz when I could (sometimes that wasn't easy, for the MI2 remaster you need to edit the exe to unlock the fps :D ) and it was great to have that smoothness and fast pointer response. It might seem like a small thing but it was just really cool, like because of the mouse controls you can really feel all dem frames so in a funny way it did matter a lot even though it's "pointless".

What the game really needs is a hardware cursor, so the cursor is drawn by the GPU independently of game's fps. It even helps with a 60 Hz monitor since a hardware cursor doesn't have input latency.

you can find the config file in
%appdata%\Terrible Toybox\Return to Monkey Island
but no luck so far with anything regarding vsync or fps :/

Yep, found the json file shortly after writing the comment and no fps setting. :( There are more settings in there than what Delores had though (same engine) so let's hope it will happen eventually.

I'm using a way too old GTX 970 and it's at like 10% utilization while playing the game so come on, unlock those frames, developers! :)

Yes, you can change the fps to as high as 240 if you want. I tried 144 on my 144hz display and it works beautifully! The steps are detailed in the link below:

I also think that your eyes do not need these wasted in between frames that they'll never be able to keep up with.

already been answered.

%AppData%\Roaming\Terrible Toybox\Return to Monkey Island/prefs.json
add
targetFrameRate: {framerate}
Machin Shin Sep 21, 2022 @ 12:35am
We don't support a fully unlocked FPS, but you can change the target framerate by adding the following to your prefs file:
targetFrameRate: 120
(or add whatever number you'd like)
You can find your prefs file here:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Terrible Toybox/Return to Monkey Island
Windows: %AppData%\Roaming\Terrible Toybox\Return to Monkey Island
