In brrr muda is there any purpose to melting the sculpture in the town, and is there a way to light the torch that was put out by the wind?

This was buggin me that I couldn't find a way to light that one torch in the town after I was able to light the one which melted the sculpture. Then I had no idea why I was able to melt the sculpture was it just a joke?

It was a hint on what needs to be done for solving one of the 3 trials (using heat to melt ice so that it drips). There are hints for the others as well, for example the bear trap and the leg near it, is a hint to go on the ship and get the joke book from the hanging ghost pirate that has a pegleg.
