stuck at the end: code wheel puzzle

I am doing the right thing: using the upper and lower face and year, all found above the door openings. But the door behinde the wheel does not open. In my game it is “indian” upper face with one arrow, lower face just one line with a small line downwards and the year is 1650.
Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong ?

Are you in hard mode? There's a note/riddle nearby which alters the final combination.

I am on hard mode. Do you mean the stone floating in the lava : 4 extra years….
I thought it was for a new puzzle, AFTER the door opened ?

Nope, it's telling you to take your existing answers and rotate each of the three. Can't remember the exact solution off the top of my head.
