I've found it's worth creating a save at the start of every part, as there are a few parts you'll have to play through several times to unlock an achievement. You'll need to complete chapter 1 4 times, and play chapter 2 twice for example, as there are several items you can use to solve a puzzle, and you'll have to use them all for the achievement to unlock
Yeah, same here, though I cannot have lost more than 5-10 minutes to backtracking, since island hopping can be done pretty quickly if you double-click everywhere. Anyway, it's done. ^^
I got all achievements in full monkey/all puzzles mode, so nothing is locked to casual mode.
- Playing in casual mode
- Running all the time
- Skipping every dialog and cut-scene possible
- Trying to minimize trips by doing everything possible in any given location before moving on
But even though the last point didn't always work out, I stayed well under 2 hours and got the achievement first try (and after playing normally in both hard and casual mode). Now that isn't speedrunning, that's world RECORD hardcore speedrunning boy.
I like how people train for sports, just going to the gym to train there bodies in general while the weirdos over here look over every nook and crany of a game to find time savers and skipple moments.
Maybe they were able to spam the dialogue faster or didn't do some things like in the pre-chapter what Dee send them out to do.
I respect those people not breaking their body boundaries but their will and dedication to beat a time.
Then later you find out a new strat as discovered so you must apply it to keep your leaderboard spot :)
Right, casual mode, didn't really think of that.
Forgot about the whole thing.
But yeah that must be a huge time skip/safe.
Trivia hunting will probably be easier when you have access to the other islands, since there are fixed locations where cards may pop up and you'll have more ground to cover while waiting for cards to respawn in a certain location.
