Can't really justify this sub cost..

I am an EQ veteran. It is my favourite Mmo of all time and I was there actively playing from the end of Kunark to I think the Gates of Discord. I even have a title on my main character for winning a pvp tournament. To be honest no other mmo has ever really caught my attention.

So I was curious to log on through steam and see how the game was in 2023, character still exists so that's cool. played around a bit and considered re-subbing until I saw in my country its 24.46 dollars a month or 195.59 a year. I don't think I remmeber even paid this much for a sub when the game was in it's prime. At this point I think 9.99 US max is acceptable

Honestly I wouldn't even pay this if the game re-released with modern graphics today, or any mmo for that matter.

Its a shame cause I was considering playing again.

Shoulda boughta lifetime sub when they offered it years ago, why I got one, knew it would be hard justifying a monthly fee eventually but by then $300 paid for itself, and the game is still very fun and addicting if you got friends to play with, or a solo loner

One option is to try out multi-boxing with free accounts and then you can decide if you want to subscribe one or many. At least, you should should be able to reach level 110 with free accounts without too much trouble. I actually have all my 6 accounts subscribed and it's a pretty penny each month for sure..don't have to be crazy like me.

Jesus Christ! It's 25 FREAKING DOLLARS?!

I was thinking about just getting a sub for my first time trying the game tonight, but I was assuming it would be more along the lines of like, I dunno... round about $7.99/$8.99, give or take.

I just looked it up. It's NOT $25. It literally IS $9.99 per month of membership, given you buy a year sub, that is.. Otherwise, $14.99/mo for a monthly recurring sub. That's still high, IMO, given the game's age, tech, and visuals. Putting that stuff aside, like $13-$15 is the average cost for like every game, games service, or streaming platform. The price is honestly par for the course.
