EQ Feels Like a Different Game Multi-boxing (Running 3 accounts)

I am playing on one of the more active traditional servers: FV - and I am running 3 boxes and 3 mercs. I am having so much fun exploring old content I'm actually suprised myself. This game feels like Icewind Dale in the 3d with a full party of 6 under your control. It's quite amazing - and for anyone on the fence about giving the game a whirl despite it's age, don't be offset by the grind--most of it will be done solo. If you want to find a group try using the search ques by typing things like this: "/who all 30 35 "

A que like that one will return all players, who aren't set as anonomous or roleplaying. I've had great success just messing various players with a simple, "Heya, want to team up and kick some butt?" There are a lot more players on the progression servers too, especially Phinny--but I opted to go with the traditional server to maximize the amount of available content.

EQ is still a beauty, if you're bored and looking for a great pasttime then Everquest could be it.

Running multiple accounts is multi boxing. Botting is having scripts run the characters for you and is usually against the rules. I agree though, it is exciting to play with more than one character.

Welcome. I really want to do it on one of the new Time Locked Progression servers, although they require subscriptions so I would have to sub multiple times. It might be worth it for me though.

When the server first comes out, it'll have a lot of people to group with. It's sad to see the multi-boxing is the new way to play EQ, but I don't blame ya. Hopefully the new server brings back the root of EQ and there will be a group of 6 real living human beings in one group without mercs. Not holding my breath.

Well it's not the preferred way to play maybe, but when you're running 3 accounts /w 3 mercs it feels like a different game. Something like Icewind Dale maybe set into the EQ world where you control a party versus just 1 player. But nothing beats grouping /w a bunch of dudes and just shooting the breeze while grinding.

Not hard. I'm currently subbed with 4 accounts. If you're dedicated enough to level quickly, you can get up and pay the game with Krono. Not hard to get the plat once you're 60+ (on progression servers). Planes of Money makes it simple, just farm diamonds, get your 15-20k plat (depending on server) and done, month paid.
