Why does the dragon create Arisen?
What motivation does the dragon have for creating Arisen? Why would it want more powerful enemies? Boredom?

The actual number 1 purpose and priority of the Dragon is to force humanity to show their will to live, because if they don't, they will eventually wither a die as a species. So once in a while, the Dragon has to come and lit a fire under their arse.

But they can't fight back if they don't have amongst them a someone who can actually have a chance to best him, and it makes it MUCH easier to identify that person if the Dragon himself officially puts his stamp or approval on him.

Hence the Arisen.

All the other stuff like finding a new Seneschal or a new dragon if they can't make it is true too, but not as high on the list.

That gets muddied abit because the Arisen is the only one who can actually kill The Dragon, and also Drakes (If I am remembering correctly). Testing all of the people is fine and all, but an army is useless because the Chosen One is the only one able to actually...kill them.

Not saying that take is wrong, but the message does get muddled.

The dragon isn't alone, though.
Sure, they can't beat him, but they can and are still supposed to fight back against the other creatures he and the current cycle brought with him.

actually a dragon wants to die, in the anime the dragon was once a arisen hisself and just wanted to pass his life down to the next arisen which he has chosen to life through the same nightmare as he did, killing people. They get their hearts removed and lose theirself which results in getting dragons theirselves, if they seek to kill the dragon with grudge and emotions of revenge

To ask this question is to get loads of spoilers.

The story kind of takes a backseat in the first game.

It's interesting enough, but it's communicated terribly.

The Cycle of Arisen, The True Nature of Pawns, it's all kind of put aside.

I assume this was because Itsuno never got to finish it.

Here's hoping DD2 turns this all around.,

Its also the only release from the "torment" of being a dragon. if you lose specifically to the dragon fight in DD1 you become the dragon. There is a cut scene for it.

Really? I thought that was for losing to the Seneshchal?

But yes, every generation a Dragon chooses someone to try to exceed him And eventually try and rise to divinity.

HOWEVER, seems like the human kingdom has made a habit of naming their Sovran (See: King) as the current 'Arisen', they might be instead there to take up proper kingship. Unless *all* the Arisen have then failed and died, or all have...succeeded, then...went away... Makes it interesting to see where it'll go.

Just hoping the ending is a tad bit different this time around >.>

It is mostly. The guy we play as during the tutorial is the current seneshchal if you play in offline or are the very first arisen to face him after that in online mode it is the last arisen to beat him.

I never really understood the reason in Dark Arisen myself o _o
Maybe the Dragon is testing the mettle of humanity to see if there is some one worthy of "Godhood" or something.

The dark arisen in DD:DA is a different case all together. Something was sending dark whispers and corrupted him into becoming what he became.

Wait, so the last person globally to beat the final boss became the final boss for the next person online?

I never knew that. That's such a cool idea.

Edited to say yes to your question.

Right!
