Yeah, I didn't exactly have any faith in "250MB" worth of patchwork.

they probably snuck some performance enhancements in there too like they did last time
Nah, people probably just stopped playing or just uninstalled it. Most probably waiting for the game they paid full price for to actually work. When they feel like getting around to actual optimizing the game and fixing the issues, there will probably be a second wave of big player numbers.
However I think theres a new option in config for world lighting maybe? Dont recall seeing that one. BUt Cpu usage getting very high due to thread bottleneck on their engine still happens.
