No FPS gains but it turns the game into a blurry mess even on quality setting.
I'm getting a fairly steady 120 FPS out of town, it drops a bit (by 5-20 fps) sometimes in town, but it's not too bad.
No, DLSS is working fine.
The problem is the optimisation is terrible for CPU load, and that it is the older DLSS
DLSS mostly only really relieves stress on your GPU, so what happens is it tries to save you FPS by tanking your resolution and it doesn't help much because it's a CPU based optimisation problem.
I got an older laptop
10750H
32gb Ram
RTX 2070 Max Q
In the world I get from 40-60 at 1080p
In the city 27-40
Turning off DLSS helped a ton
I notice my CPU usage in the world is 40% to 60%
Then in the city I am hitting 60% to 80%
Same, without the frame gen mod, the performance is terrible. I even managed to get the game to stop stuttering so much by setting the priority for DD2 to high in the task manager and the shader comp to unlimited in the nvidia control panel. It is smooth as ♥♥♥♥ when i set the frame cap to 120.
Im VERY happy now as the performance was my main complaint about the game. I didnt care about the other issues like microtran's, no new game, DRM and such.
Now that the performance has been fixed, im having an amazing time with this game. Im jumping right back in once I finish eating.
mad props bro, did you use the dlss 3.6 file?
are you guys using sub 4k series? Cuz dlss with a 4070 I get better fps but upwards of 10 depending on the area.
Looks better too than jagged edges.
The issue with visuals in this game, is the grass/trees with or with out dlss have a weird like ghosting effect that makes it blury.
Yup, sure did.
